This is me checking statistics, so anyone who doesn't like statistics look away now!
I have three games all playing the first round. Now every single player should get this event in their games as soon as they play one level, any level, old or new, and pass, right? Well, so long as they are connected to the internet, which is surely the only sensible way to play Candy Crush.
So with the player cards now visible I have noted down who I share a leaderboard with. Details to follow.
I would love it if others could share who is on yours leaderboards @MannyFae I know you aren't eligible but according to QueenB you should be getting a different version of the music tournament with different prizes?
These are my co-players:
Game 1. iPad . Joined with 85 hours left on the clock.
Levels of other players: 208, 529, 1196, 1762, 1860, 1990, 4960, 5257, 11,663
Game2 iPhone6 Joined with 70 hours left on the clock.
Levels of other players: 41, 227, 406, 796, 1235, 1505, 3783, 8171, 8930
Game 3 iPhone12 Joined with 43 hours left on the clock.
Levels of the other players: 25, 310, 391, 656, 971, 4887, 5364, 5432, 9467
I admit this may seem to some a pointless exercise, but I am struck by the fact that there is only one player (apart from myself who I do not count) above level 10,000 amongst these. I have a theory on this, but am not sure if I want to share it at this point.
I would be really interested to gather some more data, so if any of you would like to contribute that would be much appreciated. @SneakyMelonPyroDuck or @Peaches12 or anyone who reads this and is taking part in either of the two leaderboard events.
For those in the Music Passport group, I wonder if the other participants are randomly assigned to the groups. These are the countries of the other players in my groups:
US: 8 players
UK: 9 players
India: 5 players
France: 3 players
Canada: 1 player
Spain: 1 player
And that's it!
It's 27 because I'm not counting myself in this. It does not look like a random selection to me. Any thoughts?
I play the app version on a tablet. My opponents are as follows:
levels 5101, 120, 272, 2348, 5855, 1826, 2675, 1732, 12375, 3667
countries USA 1, India 3, United Kingdom 4, Spain 1, Italy 1
I know you know to take the level with a grain of salt. The person at 120 has won 176 levels in the past seven days.
@christinewupp I have a strange thing to report.
They have put me in the Sound Passport tournament, which I am not eligible for.
This is probably the only stats I will be able to provide since the event may disappear at any moment.
I entered with 37 hours left.
My opponents' levels:
51, 255, 370, 2491, 5502, 719, 6199, 262, 1992
Countries:
Brazil 1, Germany 2, US 2, Australia 1, Italy 1, India 1, Spain 1.
Thank you all for your input. And reading all the levels you have contributed here it really does add to the bewilderment I have and the question I asked:
Why are there no players at the top of the game in the qualifier rounds of this event?
Have so many of them quit that the vast proportion of players is not made up of those in the lower levels and these findings are actually representative?
Have they all been blacklisted by King and denied access to the event? Have King denied this and other events to top players on Windows for some reason? A lot of community regulars seem to never get these events in their games.
Are they all for whatever reason changing the dates on their device to outside the tournament range and lose the event that way?
Are they all so clever that they won't join the event until the last minute?
Those are just a few possible theories.
Getting here late, I know, but I figure you can't have too much data. 😉
This is my GC game's leaderboard:
1 Me (US) - 591 (will change by end of night heh)
2 US - 5147

6 Brazil - 1100
