That will never happen. The one who completes the challenge first will get the reward. When I challenge someone, I only give 2 minutes for the player because I complete the target in 2 minutes.
Here is the basic calculation of how long it took you to complete the target after you challenged a friend and how long it took your friend to complete the target after accepting your challenge.

According to the screenshots that isn't quite how it works. It isn't a challenge in which you both play at the same time.
Once a player has completed a hard level they get to challenge a friend to complete a hard level. If that friend completes the hard level in a given time they win a booster. If they don't complete a hard level in the given time then the person that set the challenge wins the booster.

Both will never receive the reward. Also, I think there is no problem in the event.😊However, I will discuss the matter to my team and ask them for more information👍
