Hi Kerrie! Probably those scores were made with the old version of Candy Crush when the levels were different. I myself tried to redo some of my old levels and I can't reach those scores anymore.

do you have any ideas? The level pictured below only has 16 moves how is this possible?
Hi @Kerrie I think you have probably answered your own question by pointing out that the level only has 16 moves.
Levels 1-700 have been around for a long time now, and the game has seen a lot of changes in that time. I would guess that the high score comes from when the level was first released, and moves weren't as restricted as they are now
Also as you can see in the linked discussion below the points system was changed back in 2020. I seem to remember more than a few complaints about how the points change has made getting three stars impossible on some of the levels.

@Kerrie In addition to what Alienscar points out about the older levels being changed from what they were years ago, some people simply hack to achieve ridiculously high scores, which is what I suspect for your #1 scorer. I mean, if that person also happens to have 1,000,000+ points for Level 1, then clearly they hacked. 🙄
With the new Friends list, there's a simple solution: locate and remove that friend. I would opt for that since it's annoying to have to look at someone's fake score when opening a level.

I think it's a hacker and I'm going to remove them. It's a bummer when changes are made making higher scores almost impossible.😭

Since this here game (CCS) is feeling more like Friends/Jelly/Soda by the day, the devs might as well go all the way with it; i.e., allow players to match 6 candies to create a colouring candy/match 4 candies in a square to create a Swedish fish/& introduce this candy into the game:
Match 6 of these & see what happens.
But anyway, this game used to be a leader in the industry; seems like it's more of a follower, nowadays...

Have you checked that the highest score was obatained by the same person?
Then the truth is, he/she is absolutely a hacker.

Hello Kerrie.
I've discovered a level which still gives a high score. I played it today for the first time and got 46 million+ score with a golden pin. You should check it out.

Fewer points means fewer rewards
That's so wrong. Your score doesn't affect for your rewards. In the past there was such a thing. But the score does nothing except making us happy when we get a high score.

Except when there's a color, wrapped or stripped challenge.
