They have changed the rules and put limits on how many you can receive. I'm quitting because no enjoyment without extra lives.

I've noticed that as well.
The way the game is setup now ie most levels are impossible to pass without playing them multiple times to earn extra moves and then use gold, Your bank of lives will quickly disappear.
They've put a limit of 80 on mine, Laughable, That might get you through one or two torturous levels before having to go through the rigmarole of requesting lives.
Also believe there's a limit on requests.
If the game wasn't already " broken " with the way it's now being managed it is now.
