A couple of years ago, our son-in-law was decorating the house to make it look like a haunted house. He nailed up the front door so well that our daughter could not get into the house on returning from work. Luckily, she was still able to get in through the back door among all of the decorations.

In the Netherlands we don't celebrate Halloween, like children go door-to-door. We ourselves decorate outside our house with hollowed-out pumpkins with candles in them, ghostly cats and witches hanging from doors, walls and shelves ๐

Haha I used to do this, until one Halloween..one of the kids peaked thru the glass on my front door..it seemed as though every other house opened the door and gave them candy...they didn't like the 'no lights on'..so they were like 'what the heck..no one home' so they chucked eggs on my door..I didn't even hear the egg chucking..until the next day..before I even left my house..my friend texted me saying..'I drove past your house..the kids left a mark on it..' I was like eh? Got up and found around 7 eggs chucked on my front door..๐คฃ what a waste of protein!
