Hi - Iโm sorry to hear this is happening to you. First of all, what are you using to save your game status? Facebook or King or even Apple?
Are you all using the same method? Sometimes Facebook or King can have temporary server problems and you will see that message.
In the meantime we can ask and see if there was an issue.

Wow - I was hoping you both used the same method to save your status - because then maybe it could be an issue with that specific method.
I have asked one of the game experts if they know anything. We'll see what they say (but it is the weekend).
Have you tried rebooting your device? Turn it off for at least 10-15 seconds before turning it back on?
You might try clearing your cache (sometimes that can help - but I find it most useful when you are missing an event etc.). Also if you are playing via WiFi - you might check your router and if necessary reboot it.
