Anybody else not getting any green gems even show up at all? Yes, I am stuck on my current level, but not even seeing them while I play, and none when playing past levels that I have beat...Do past levels not count for this challenge?

I’ve seen one this week, of course that is also my win total for the week out of 100 tries! Too many Candy Royale participations which are the kiss of losing with no way to opt out!
Every green gem I have seen is only on the first attempt at a level. Then it is not available on that level any more.
@MannyFae yes the green gem feature is really just a modified version of collect golden crowns.
An interesting observation. This is a ploy to push players to expend boosters/gold to win the level NOW, then. Just like the butterfly event.
I have only seen two green gems so far @stephanieroy and both of them have been in new levels and they only appeared on the first attempt at the level.
