Level 3
I made the mistake and I purchased moves in order to pass a level and since then I no longer see ads nor do I get boosters. I contacted customer support and I got some tips to do that were just to get rid of me. NOT EVER buying anything anymore. Shame on you King!!
Sounds familiar..... now where did we read this before? Ah yes, here....
But seriously, @countah1 sorry this happened to you. As you can see you are not alone.
@countah1 There are so many threads about this issue, and I'm sorry you didn't read them.
It's been said time and time again, if you purchase something, you WILL lose being able to have ads and possibly events.
Maybe after a few months, you'll get ads back.
It's not fair, I know, but that's how King works. Once you purchase something, they take away all the freebies, hoping you'll buy more with real $.
Good Luck to you!
I wish I had known this sooner. I hadn’t played Candy Crush for over a year. When I opened it again the ads were there. I instantly became addicted. Instead of logging off after 5 lives, I was able to pass more levels. I stayed up until 1am just to complete new levels or start new challenges. I felt I was actually competing against others members in a race. I played Candy Crush longer and felt part of the community. A true addict. Then I made a mistake of a buying a lollipop and now it’s over. I’m back to logging off after 5 lives and it’s become boring because I can’t even pass a hard level. It’s not even worth buying lives or extra moves because I know I’m going to get stuck next level. Candy Crush had me hooked when ads were on, now it’s just frustrating and it loses my attention quickly. Shame!
That' s a sad story @slay_slav and I do think King are making a mistake. The problem is they don't even acknowledge that this is what is happening, in fact they deny that there is a connection between purchases and ads, but there definitely is. I even tested it out to prove the point.
What you describe is my experience also: The game can be fun and addictive if you are able to progress, keep a win streak and compete with others. I never actually had ads to help me in the game, but I used to spend money on the weekend offers because they helped me enjoy the game in years gone by. But now the game has changed so much that buying anything is a mistake, for so many reasons. The levels have been tinkered with in a way that you get held up time and again no matter what boosters you play, so none of the offers help pass more than one level, so they do nothing to bring the fun back into the game, they are simply not value for money.
King are making a big, big mistake by penalising paying customers. It is very short sighted and cannot be good business in the long run.
Edited by CM: You seem to be lost and in the wrong thread. Please keep it in topic! Check out our House Rules!
Thanks for the link to the good old days @Spieler_8675309 . I checked it out. Hey, people were still complaining when a level was impossible to pass without boosters in the 8000+ range. What a laugh! Look at the game now.... Those legendary levels, most players would be happy if they could pass them with ordinary boosters, or even one lollipop maybe. Yes, the good old days of the lucky boards... all gone. Are you still yourself playing?
You bet, @christinewupp; there are just a few links to those good ol' days.
And yep, still playing it; same as that previous convo, pretty much.
Staying a few episodes below the top of the card (by choice); gotta try keeping those GB events (candy royale/ep race/etc.), y'know.
And (to keep it on topic) der Spieler never uses real dinero for boosters/extra moves/GBs/game lives/etcetera...
@christinewupp Completely agree. Purchasing is not value for money and doesn’t keep me longer in the game. I do feel when boosters are used they sometimes do nothing (like on purpose) and it was just a waste. Watching the ads for extra moves was much more fun and helped keep a win streak. I had never actually purchased anything up until the ads appeared. Surely the testing period must be over by now 🤔
