Basically I noticed on the game I was play, I mess around with test accounts, that some levels had been dramatically changed. I made a new account to see if the change was for all accounts but it seems not to be. What you see in the post you quoted is the second account. I was listing some of the level that were changed awhile back just to be complete. On that account 150 was not changed so it is clear the level changes are being tested and only some people will see the changes atm.
I am getting the impression all around that the changes this week don't make sense at all. I don't understand what it is they are trying to test this week. Getting players without boosters completely stuck on level 230 or 235 for example, how can that make any sense? That is far too early to block new players in. They'll just quit. I don't think King have had their thinking hats on with these changes. Maybe they just randomly pressed a few buttons to see what result comes out. It would help if you specified how many moves your game actually gets rather than just the changes so I can compare with my versions.
Hm, interesting... I have the old version of the levels, I guess the new version only gets sent out to newcomers, not us oldies scrolling back.
But it is interesting what they have done. I like to try to work out their motives for the changes. Indeed at first sight it seems odd taking 6 moves away from already almost impossible level 90! As for level 125, I have just passed this in the old version with 9moves to spare, so there IS a lucky board version out there which makes it still passable with 15 moves. But I also remember having often failed this level previously. I suspect these changes are to give King full control of who passes these early levels and which booster combination will pass. Some of the levels like 90 were still passable by an experienced player with the right moves without boosters. King don't want that. They want players to start using boosters. In fact this level is two levels after the party popper is introduced and it is probably designed to show a player how they can use this booster. When I used to play new games quite often I got stuck on level 90, then closed and reopened the game a few times, and eventually the gifted automatic party popper would clear the board for me before making my first move, showing me how great it can be for such levels. I suspect King have made the already easy levels 88 and 89 even easier, maybe to work up to this. I have played level 90 a few times today, each time, with 26 moves just using a pre level colour bomb will pass it, and I also passed it without any boosters today. In 20 moves, I doubt this is possible.
Introducing legendary levels this early on is not helping attract new players to the game. I think it is a mistake. They are also making it far too obvious how the game is pre determined and rigged, far too early in the game. They so destroying the illusion of winning by skill and clever strategy. That certainly must be a mistake.
The levels seem to be only for some groups. I had made another account and did not see them. This one just happened to be in the correct group(s) again. It might be the case someone players much father on like yourself are actually getting the new levels depending on your group, or as you say could be just new accounts.
At ~141 the changes start to make much more sense and seem far less random. I cannot imagine what they were thinking with 125. I mean it is not visually "Legendary" but lets face it, 15 turns on that level is basically going to make it that.
174... totally reworked, it is actually shocking
Two more turns, slightly less frosting, wrapped replace fish, 1 extra color bomb generator, they are also moved + doubles from generators, holes (not visible) to the separated section at the bottom
