Blackout Glitch happening on Candy Crush

This blackout 1st happened on one of my Facebook browser versions of the game this morning. Happening right after I pressed play.

So I went to play new levels on my Win app version of the game. I passed Level 16374 and immediately I got the blackout.

I was sure when I had to exit my game that I would loose my Candy Necklace and have to replay the level. I am going to have to replay the level but my Candy Necklace is still here. I closed down my laptop and restarted it however the glitch is still on my Facebook browser versions so I am going to wait till later to try my Win app version again.

Is anyone else having this glitch happening to them?

I have gotten it to stop now. Do not know if the following manuever changed things or if the glitch just cleared up on its' own. Decided to try my husband's laptop.

I went and opened the Win app and a browser app on my husband's laptop. I had not opened Candy Crush on this computer in a while. The game seemed fine on hubby's laptop. Then went back and tried on my laptop and all seems fine? Then tried on my PC (which was giving the blackout too) and all seems fine? Oh the mysteries of CCS!

Thank you for reporting dear @Scooterpie🙏

I am glad that the glitch is cleared in your game! I will keep an eye in the Community for other complaints!

Come to think of it, few weeks ago, I have seen this complaint from a player! For them also, it disappeared after a while and nobody did anything🤷‍♀️

Like you said... mysteries of CCS!!!

I am sure that @Alienscar must have seen those complaints🤔

That sort of thing sounds like CCS having issues with your graphics card or the windows drivers, firmware ones, themselves. I notice this from time to time where the colours will break on the win app or other visual oddities. It seems to come and go so I am guessing you got hit by that.

Best option is to shut down (not restart or sleep) and they start your system again. That usually clears up the temporary ones, though sometimes only temporarily. 😑

Basically they likely optimize for mobile and there can always be minor issues with another platform.

    Grrr post eaten YET again.

Basically if I had to guess, what is happening is the game is having issues with either your video card drivers or the underlying windows video drivers.

The solution is the turn off your system and starting it up again. If your system is set to sleep and not fully power down it is likely the issue will not clear up.

This will fix some temporary visual issues but they might come back. Nothing really can be done as this is an issue with optimizing for mobile and "porting" to windows. Minor issues can be expected.

@PummyRaj can you look into why the previous version of this post was eaten by the forum.

@Pyrolight I did shutdown and restart both my laptop and PC. Tried clearing browser history, data, etc. Tried the 3 finger salute first thing, ctr+alt+del. ʕ≧ᴥ≦ʔ

Just reopened my Win app on my laptop. Left my laptop on but was out for lunch and errands. It now shows that I have passed Level 16374? I am happy! I guess I have been smiled upon? ʕ⁀ᴥ⁀ʔ

@PummyRaj sorry I have just noticed that you tagged me in this thread. I did not receive a notification.

I am sure that @Alienscar must have seen those complaints🤔

I couldn't say for sure that I have seen what Scooterpie is complaining about. Last year their were plenty of complaints about Facebook being unplayable due to the grey screen. This year the only grey screen issues I recall are the ones caused by the Hub and those caused by Safari.

    Sorry I misunderstood.

That sounds like some data was being sent to or from King servers, assuming you are online at the time, and their server had ... a moment. Likely they have some sort of check for incomplete transactions, might be on a system like ActiveMQ or something and it finally updated. If not that they could have a transaction table and code that periodically checks to see if the message was sent

I know I worked on a system that does batches. If for whatever reason a batch item fails and we get an alert. We just usually let it try again the next day as 9 out of 10 it is just a one off for some unknown, and endlessly annoying, reason.

The exact mechanics are beyond me but it all really ends up with the same result, failed action, server tries again later.

@PummyRaj what in the below quote keeps causing the post to fail?

these tend to be much slower as in a cron job once every x hours or days.

I am having a similar issue on my PC browsers @PummyRaj @Alienscar @Scooterpie

I wish those responsible at CCS would concentrate more on delivering a quality product rather than just trying to extract money from newbies in side games like All Stars.
