Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far, away, Candy Crush was launched. When I started playing, on the Flash version, the game was a challenge, and a fair bit of fun. Only the Daily Booster Wheel was available. Remember the caption: "You only need one more jelly." before ending the game, gave incentive to try again. Most importantly, King claimed that ALL levels were solvable without any boosters at all. Somewhere along the line that claim became invalid. Due to the game evolving and gradually getting stripped out of the fun and challenge, is a fact that King or Microsoft or Activision did. By now the fun has gone, and the only challenge is to pass events to build up boosters, in order to move to your next level. That can usually take time, and take over your life. Ooooh how nice if the game is still like it was, in the beginning.
Maybe people cheat, to avoid the frustration, of not seeing "You only need one more jelly." to counting how many jellies, and other blockers are required, and bringing hopelessness, not incentive.
True. Exactly true. I remember the good old days when playing was fun and all levels were passable without boosters and also when there were events to really help you stock up on boosters so nobody had to cheat. The sweet jars with the candies with the stripes in the middle when you got nice cascades were great. Ah, cascades by themselves were fun… I remember that buying the weekend offers gave you a chance to get on a winning streak and have fun, rather than as it is now, when it would just buy you two hours of frustration instead of two hours of fun.
Somewhere during the last two years it all became so frustrating to us all that we were getting desperate and trying things out or finding something by sheer chance, that would help. I mean, if you are using a cash machine at your bank to withdraw 20 pounds, if it then spits out another 20 a minute later without charging it from your account, how many people would take it? If you are poor and desperate and know that the greedy and wealthy bank has overcharged you on multiple occasions in the past, surely, you'd take it. That is how Candy Crush works: Desperate players cheated by the game will take advantage of glitches that are in their favour. Its' up to King to spot and eliminate those glitches. Choosing not to do so is in itself a sign that King accept and condone cheating so long as there are enough other players who spend enough money.
Glitches have always been and will probably always be in CCS and probably most every other game too. I love a good glitch. I do not think that they can all be eliminated, one thing leads to another. Christine, your bank analogy is excellent.
So play your way and have a good time but the glitching does not belong in the All Stars competition. Can using glitches be stopped? Don't think so…one glitch leads to another…
Gaining an unfair advantage in a competiton is cheating. However, is there a player who exists who has not gained some boosters through a game glitch? ⍝ʕ´•ᴥ•`ʔ⍝

Can't blame Microsoft the killing the fun for this game anyway, it was all Activision. So far Microsoft has been an improvement.

Quite a few I would say. Not sure how the other versions are but the win app has only really had the double hatchling glitch.
Sorta depends if you mean, intentionally or not.
I have not see the game glitch such that I got extra boosters as of yet. Easy to tell since the windows version gives you way less of them overall so having a stock of them is rare.
If you mean intentionally taking advantage of a glitch, yes that is in fact considered cheating.
