My latest and possibly last update on my new season game. I got to level 306 with 681 gold and this inventory:

For any doubters, yes I achieved this purely within the way the game has allowed me to pass levels and awarded rewards in events. Each episode race earns me 40 gold now. The gold chocolate box rewards 20 gold. The friends challenge pays out hammers and UFOs quite reliably. And I just finished the last puzzle challenge, which also gave out a UFO. Apart from Season Pass those are my only events. No adverts in this one.

My strategy for levels 200-305: Play starting boosters for every nightmarishly hard and legendary level, no boosters for the other levels excepting the timed boosters from the daily treat machine and playing two episodes per day. ( I think maybe if you play too fast the game senses it and tries to slow you down?)

Yes, the gumball machine levels: I sort of don't mind them as I like a change, a new element. And the game was kind this week: All of the nightmarish or legendary levels let me pass (with the starting and win streak boosters) on my last or second to last move. Level 284 I had to play a UFO to pass. Level 270 was not possible, but I passed after 10 gold for 5 extra moves on my first try. 305 I risked playing without stripe/wrap as I'd run out and it still worked just with the other two boosters. Some of the other levels held me up and lost me my win streak, but on those I reliably got a lucky board on my second try!

Yes, it's definitely more about WHEN you play Candy Crush than about HOW you play. I'm sure another week I'd have had a much harder time!

Unless they are trying stuff out for the supercharge, what I have is:

Match a wrapped = 3x3 then a 5x5 explosion . That second explosion makes all the difference since the first explosion usually is not in the ideal spot. Also you hit 16 more candy.
Striped and Wrapped = 5x5 pattern. You hit a whole bunch more candy
Double Wrapped = 5x5 and 5x5 I think. This one is really hard pick out. Still not 100% sure.

The supercharged effect makes it much harder to notice what is happening on the board.

The main reason it is so good is the game is built around a 3x3 width explosion/pattern. Since the supercharged are bigger it means you can hit stuff across a single tile gap that was designed to make the 3x3 pattern miss.

Basically the supercharge is, with a single streak win, more powerful that having both the color bomb and striped and wrapped pre game boosters active and for 6 less gold to boot.

Well that was random

At 1500 the updated levels are back to normal. 1504 is a bit of a shock haha.

I'm not sure I understand the supercharged wraps. I have them in another game and they just seem to explode like normal wraps but spawn another wrap? Or am I missing something?

Level 205 with the gumball machines I passed using the first two starting boosters and win streak boosters, on my last move. Level 207 is the one holding me up instead! Timed wrap/stripe and colour bomb from events were no use, I tried the fishes as well, but no good and need to now wait for my lives to refresh (and my phone to charge as well).

Yes I did well with events. Got Season Pass of course, which I think you don't get, and I got to the top of that two weeks because I played slowly. I have the friend challenge, which gives good boosters as well:

Ya there will be 4 or so chocolate levels scattered here and there.

You will have to tell me what you think of the Nightmarish and Legendary Gumball levels. I found them to be brutal.

You will be happy to know, 1341 has not been changed yet… lol.

Did I mentioned how good super charged wrapped candies are? That 3x3 means you can hit stuff with them even if there is a stupid hatchling in the way of the regular blast.

Also I am jelly about how many more boosters you get on mobile.

That would be 0/1/0 for the last row if you were on the win app 200

I also noticed that my win streak slightly improved. I have 2 extra turns for my second bag now, before it was one. Not sure if that was an update or just passing 100.

I've just completed the first 200 today. Not spent a single booster or any gold, as was my intension. This is all I have managed to accumulate in a best case scenario, from events:

So tomorrow I'll hit the horrible 200s. Legendary levels neatly placed at five level intervals. I'll have to start spending some of my gold/boosters then.

I have the gumball machines! From level 186 onwards. Exciting!

Level 163 still has the chocolate as well.

So a new wrinkle that I suspected.

Saturday, double boosters was gold. Yesterday, double boosters did nothing and were actually causing levels to try and burn them. After they wore out, the levels played better.

So it seems that each day can affect the usefulness of boosters and that can be positive or actually being negative.

That being said, with supercharge it objectively does not matter.

Lastly the express can be pretty nutty now

1 UFO, 30 min coconut wheel, 40 min lives, for 10 gold basically.

Guess it is going public. These are exceptionally good. The one extra square of range totally changes the way the game is played, I cannot overstate how powerful they are.

… Good GOD the game is fun. Also UFOs launch these lil monsters.

I am not sure but fish seem smarter. They were going after pieces of cake that were left not empty spots.

Also today the chocolate box vanished. Kinda makes sense, would be a bit much with that and the supercharge.

As for the clean up, it might just be how messy it got with All Stars being in both forums so much. I think they want to keep it contained to the appropriate forum. Also when they archives it, nothing about this years All Stars is hanging around.

That would not be to simply "hide" stuff but to avoid old posts being resurrected next year adding to confusions when issue end up happening.

Not sure when chocolate and bombs will be introduced, likely when I get out of the current set of updated levels I imagine. This seems to be a work in progress as I have bumped into the odd bomb and chocolate level here and there.

As for the gumballs, not in the grouping I am playing. Up to 1000 has been standard levels we all know and … "love".

Hit 200 yet? 205 is the first Legendary level now. BTW 225 is honestly one of my favorite levels. I know I am crazy. Hard but a very interesting design.

You were right, they are onto me. The tidying up started after QueenB came back, which I find it very concerning, it's starting to feel personal and I am getting paranoid. I don't want to add to the post in the other forum now, because it contained a stupid error and I wish I could delete it and hope it will disappear. I was reading an extra digit thinking it was 11 million instead of 1 million, am really kicking myself for my stupidity. I am sure that a year ago we had much longer to edit a stupid post but now they only give us 24 hours. I find that quite harsh. You mentioned DM in your post. Is this even possible? I thought King got rid of that in this forum.

About you post, I see they got rid of the chocolate then. That's what they did before: they removed both chocolate and bombs simultaneously from the earlier levels, it seems that they have extended this now beyond 1000. I am not the greatest fan of bombs but I definitely like chocolate. So when does that get introduced now? And what about the gumball machines, are they still in or did they remove them from the early levels?

I'm playing mine now very slowly. I am not using a single booster or bar until I get to level 225. Then I'll see where I get held up.

I don't think they are getting rid of Bombs. My theory is that there are too many blocker types too early and they are trying to space them out. Bombs also really should be a later blocker type when you think about their mechanics.

Have a more even spread of new mechanics would be better. Sorta spread them out to where most people quit so they balance is better and people might play to higher levels since a new mechanic is coming up.

Unrelated, the Movie Season events started correctly today as I thought they might. Just that stupid gem hunt that always behaves strange.

No pregame booster - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no
One pregame booster - No I said… well maybe this time, next time you suffer
Two pregame boosters - Here have a lucky level. Not enough, have another and another…

Also yes, my paintbrushes are my treasure, I will not use them. Mostly that in the past they were by far the more rare booster for the win app version. Basically got the first one and one even 1000 levels. That is it.

That is sad news indeed, @PyroIllumination ! I wonder why King are doing this? I was already upset they got rid of the earliest bomb levels, and now even here? Does this mean they are going to get rid of the bombs altogether? It is just so boring. I think they are trying to bore us out of playing their stupid game…. I wonder if they really are trying to just dumb the game down now. If they get rid of the frog and the yellow key/dragon levels as well I think I'll be out of here.

I do have a second game on "mobile" to goof around with. Waiting a few days does seem to net some nice buffs, I think even more so now than even 6 months ago.

I am hopeful as the event was even listed by QueenB as the gem hunt that first day until she updated it. It seems to be the pattern with it. Not sure why it is like that, but King ya.

The game actually did "cheat" today. Level 552 had a color bomb, candy, blue wrapped vertically. I had the timed hammers so I popped the candy and the color bomb and wrapped went off when they touched as opposed to being able to use them normally. This was the first turn so it is not like the move could have possibly lost the level.

I did win it pretty easily as the level forced a shuffle after about 7 moves, and set up a fairly easy pattern to win. Still have to laugh at the beginning though. Would have been a turn 1 win haha.

And 612 is the hilarious version. 100 levels too early and kinda hardcore. This used to be a Hard level as opposed to super hard.

So new season, new strategy here as well, @PyroIllumination . I'm trying the "Take it slowly" strategy with my latest game. After having been held up needlessly at level 46 (Whatever do they do that for this early?) I played the first two episode races, which presented not a single difficult level and I stopped at 80.

Then I paused for two days to see what I get after two days not logging in: I got my 3 free UFOs on the first level as hoped for, and half an hour timed colour bombs from the daily treat machine when I logged back in after two days. What fun! Those colour bombs together with the win streak bomb are hugely powerful on these early levels. I got lucky boards first time round for two entire episodes: Levels 89 and 90 were as easy as I've ever seen them. At level 96 you get a timed lollipop to help as well, plus the first chocolate box completed with more timed boosters. Not a level lost or even difficult until the lollipop and boosters ran out at level 117. I'll finish the episode later and then pause again until Monday. I wonder if this strategy will make the game easier? Have you ever tried a stop and start strategy? Anyway I haven't got any special events yet and no camera candies. I hope to the get those on Monday as you suggested I might.

You should be fine I think. Level 46 actually can be a complete… "insert bad words here". Even with double boosters, it is still really iffy at times. It is honestly the worst board under 200.

II always double booster it since I know it is just a nightmare without and it is still about 1/8 on the first shot.

I tried to start a new game but I'm already getting fed up at level 46. Where's my lucky board? I hate it when they hold me up before I even get any events. Should I start again or do you think it's a sign that levels 185-265 will be less harsh?

Ah got it two tries after I wrote that. I was already up to the offer of 55 extra moves. I'll carry on then I guess.
