As I was suspecting, your game was not freezing but, having the "Grey Screen" glitch, which is affecting some players without no apparent reason!!
That glitch clears out by itself - within a day or two, and sometimes, within a week! Luckily, it left your game within 2 days!
Back to enjoying the game & crushing those levels🍫🍫

I have asked repeatedly for help and this it the first time I have seen the “type” box.
I play Candy Crush Saga, on iso 17.5.1. My iPad is brand new since October or November I think it’s an iPad 10.
my game keeps freezing up when I get to the screen that I have the map on the lower left corner. It is shaded, but not until I get to that screen. I have just completed the series of games that advances to a higher level.
this is what I need to get passed. Please help me. I’ve spent much time and money to get to this level. Please don’t make me start over. I am an older player and don’t understand a lot of the technology so please be patient with me.

Hello @jeanie1123 Do you ever find our answers to your cry for help? This is so frustrating that you keep asking the same question but seem to never find our answers. One of the game moderators did answer you in you post no. 4:

I have zoomed in your screenshot and realized that you might be experiencing this glitch with a special feature called "Adventure Path"!!
I checked my game on 4 platforms and my map looks different, and I do not have the "Doughnut dog" in my map!!
I will report to our Community In-charge about this glitch! But, you will have to wait till tomorrow as they do not work over the weekends.
Thank you for informing that you are playing on iPad! Can you please provide your game ID number also?
To find your ID —> Click on "My Account" tab you see on game Home screen (just below to play) — Now, in the screen you see, double click on the King emblem you see at the top of the page — a number will be revealed, which is your game ID number.
To reply back, please type in the box given below (where you see "type")⬇️
