The game levels have gotten so difficult that I am not playing as often as I did years ago. Last night I tried to clear a level and when I couldn't, it asked if I wanted to use 10 gold bars for extra moves. The number of extra moves was insane so I just tried it again now. Still couldn't clear the level but you have to see this.
It is offering me 245 extra moves for 10 gold bars. So I got curious to see how many moves are in the level and you can see that below.
Seriously studio?? Only 16 moves and it's called a legendary level?? So there is no way to clear such a difficult level with only 16 moves so I clicked to end the level and now look how many extra moves I got!
Now it's added 10 extra moves giving me 255 moves to clear it. It sure does remind me of the old days when the studio changed 50 moves for a level down to 12 moves and the players screamed that it was difficult to clear.
So it is a glitch or a joke?? And that is why I don't play this game as often as I did at one time.
Please @QueenB @kiara_wael or any of the other GMs please let me know if it's a glitch?
Have you ever looked to see the highest number of extra moves in your game? I'm wondering how many times we have to fail a level in order to get that many extra moves.
That is insane! I'd love to know the reasoning behind it. Wouldn't it make more sense to offer more moves to start the level than to have the moves increase every time the level can't be cleared? I'm curious now to know why the studio did this.
Hello @_Elsa_ Nice to see you back in the Candy Crush Community! You have obviously missed out on this change in the way King want us to play Candy Crush now.
Legendary levels were introduced about a year ago. In recent months some of us have noticed that these are fairly predictable levels which are often set up to be failed on our first attempt, even if we have both win streak boosters and play starting boosters. This is to extract money from players who are keen on keeping a win streak, no doubt. You probably remember the days when the game would allow us to pass any level eventually by granting us a lucky board. Those days are long gone, and many players here in the Community have reached the maximum of +255 moves for 10 gold and complained about. it! I personally don't have that patience and usually pay the 10 gold when I am offered +35 extra moves, but yes, the maximum is +255. Candy Crush has become a "pay to pass" game. Alternatively we can play a strong booster such as a UFO or Party Popper to pass these impossible levels. But yes, the game is now full of them. A lot of the earlier levels have been tinkered with as well to make them impossible. It has become much more obvious how the algorithms are fixed and the game is manipulated. The strategy has changed: Instead of passing levels with no boosters we need to use the events in our games to gain boosters and gold bars and then use these wisely and appropriately to play the game. I have found this still possible and enjoyable.
Hi @christinewupp! Wow it shows how long it's been since I had to come to the Saga support. YES I do remember the days when we were able to get that lucky board! Too many changes have happened since then. So now we have to load the level if we are lucky enough to have the 3 boosters to click on to start the game. But then when we fail we've lost those 3 boosters. I think I will have to follow your advice and pay the 10 gold bars because comparing the loss of the boosters each time compared to the gold bars once I can see your choice and it might have to be mine too.
So then let me ask you a question …………………. if we try a new level once and we are not clearing it then how many extra moves do we get the first time? Is it the same 5 extra moves and then it keeps moving up from there?
I love running tests on the game, so I've just tried this out. After one fail I get this:
After my second fail I get this:
After my third fail I get this:
And so on I believe until we reach +255, so it goes up in tens each time.
I thought that it started with 5 moves. I think the other King games might be doing this too. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for posting those print screens.
This is where you'll really start to wonder why you're still going:
You're right! I used to be one of those players who was always at the top. Every Wednesday I'd clear the new levels but since I play on both Windows 11 and mobile and the latter was behind I decided to hold off playing the newest episode until I could play on mobile. That's when I started falling behind and now I'm over 5000 levels behind! I do wonder why I'm still trying.
