I don't want to indirectly unintentionally somehow bad mouth King at all by describing the other player that so I'm editing this post and just going to continue to provide the unfair play information directly to them. But it looks like I won 1 of the 10 Grand Prizes. Hopefully I'm allowed to share that info publicly. Thanks to you all for your feedback and support and happy crushing it!
Long story short, there's an exploit trick
It just goes to show how little King cares about their game @pmin because this 'exploit' that you refer to has been known about since the 2023 All Stars.
To be honest though I don't know why anyone would want to spend a couple of hundred dollars to win this tournament unless there is a band you want to see really badly.
King might have imposed a limit on the amount of points you can earn per level. Exceeding that threshold will result in you being banned.
Evidence of this can be found in the thread below.
The threshold is not known, and it may be altered based on testing. The high number of complaints from players who were banned during the qualifiers may have been caused by the low threshold at the start of the tournament.
I also remember a complaint from a player who was banned during All Stars in a similar situation, after expending gold to acquire 255 moves.
King may also monitor the speed at which players gain points, not just points per level. Both the dragon level trick and the 255 moves trick are now too risky and may not be very useful.
Just removing a few of my earlier replies that describe the unfair players. If I get explicit permission I'll post more about them, but geez that was one crazy Final. I logged on 8 am sharp, had a cooked meatloaf ready since I could scarf that down easily with one hand, bottled drinks stacked bedside and crushed 42 hours non-stop with maybe 4 three minute breaks near the end to message King. I legit lost 5 pounds during the tourney lol.
Just to your point, there are still ways around it. Not King's fault since devices are constantly changing and updating, it's hard from a coding perspective. The guy in my group could have scored 18 million if he wanted to, other group legit winners topped out at 6.5-7.5 million.
Sorry, I never responded to this post. You would need a LOT of screenshots or videos with times and scores in order to do the math and prove scoring irregularities..... Basically their normal rate versus a highly irregular one. Screenshots showing the level they were on when major point jumps occurred helps. Just one screenshot of high scores isn't enough. Lots of people think that expert players are cheats, when they're just really good. But expert players don't go from 140k/hr scoring regularly then pause on one level to score 600k/HR for 3 hours then back to 140k/hr..... Expert players just have a higher overall average rate which can reach up to 250k/hr at times, but in a marathon usually peaks at 170-200k. So they might've been good, might've been exploiting, hard to tell without proof.
If you want to share scores, you can and I can let you know the rates. Screenshots are fine too I believe just so long as you edit out other player's names before you post them. But overall if you finished 6th, sounds unfortunate and unlikely you'll hear back about a prize. Best you can do is file an abuse report against any abnormal playing in the group. But without tons of screenshots , unless if their final score is over 8.4 million..... I wouldn't file a report since it might not be true.
