I’ve read your & Christewupp’s pointers. I discovered some of them myself after struggling to complete levels with no boosters or gold bars, until I realized I needed to start an episode with enough boosters to get thru it easily. Since then I’ve gotten thru levels & episodes easily.

However for awhile now, some ads freeze & go black, making it necessary to close the app & restart & lose any win streaks, especially Candy Royale. So I use gold bars for extra moves instead of risking failing the level by watching an ad. To add to that issue, for the past week, any boosters I earned would go into my account, then a few minutes later disappear. I brought it to this forum’s attention and at least that issue seems to have been fixed.

I’m curious how you accumulated so many gold bars. Each episode win I get 30, Candy Royale 100+ sometimes. Chocolate Box 10. Even if I didn’t use gold bars for extra moves I would not be close to 32,000. Also where do you get Party Poppers offered?. I get them offered so seldom, I can’t remember when they were offered.

BTW - I am on level 16730 with 150 gold bars

Hi, @cwgames99 ! I'm glad to see it mostly works for you too. Honestly the gold bars just pile up over time if you do it long enough. Back during the All-Stars competition last year, I was down to about 1000 gold bars, since I spent so many there (and yet came in second in the next-to-last knockout round, so I didn't even make it to the final online round), and I was around level 7000-8000 then, so I have earned all those gold bars in just the past 9-10,000 levels or so. I try to spend very few gold bars. Probably half of the gold bars I spend are spent on things like paintbrush, UFO, and very occasionally party poppers - the ones you can't get by watching ads. The only time I spend gold bars on free switches and lollipop hammers are when I'm in a rush - mainly during tournaments. I'm currently getting 30 gold bars per chocolate box, so that's a big difference from you. But my chocolate box requires doing an average of about 20 new levels - what's yours? I remember at one time I had 10 gold bars per chocolate box, but that was averaging about 7 new levels required for the last order, so it really added up to almost as many gold bars in actuality. It seems like there's a huge variety in what is offered in the chocolate box; I apparently have always had pretty lucky ones. For episode wins, I get 30 gold bars, but then I can watch ads for more at the end of each episode race, and although it says it gives 1 gold bar for the first ad and 4 gold bars for the second one, I've noticed it actually seems to be giving 5 gold bars (instead of 1) for the first ad, and 10 gold bars (instead of 4) for the second ad. Seems like a bug to me, but I'm happy to take it! And yes, the Candy Royale can be huge. The last two times I've gotten Candy Royale, I got over 300 gold bars the first time, and over 200 the second time. So it has really been adding up for me; it seems like you may not be in as generous of a situation; I'm sorry for that.

Anyway, if you add up things, you can see my current gold bar earning rate:
30 gold bars per 20 levels or so for chocolate box
45 gold bars for each 15 levels for episode race
figure on about 100 gold bars on average per Candy Royale, which probably happens once every 100 levels or so

For each 1000 levels, that adds up to:
    30 x 50 = 1500 gold bars for chocolate box
    45 x 66 = 2970 gold bars for episode race
    100 x 10 = 1000 gold bars for Candy Royale

So that adds up to over 5000 gold bars per 1000 levels. Of course, it is necessary to spend quite a few gold bars over that time as well. If you figure I have earned 30,000 gold bars over the past 9000 levels, that implies I needed to keep 3333 of the 5000 gold bars per 1000 levels in order to be where I am. So that still leaves the ability to spend 1667 gold bars per 1000 levels, which is realistically probably what I have been spending.

I'm wanting to see how high my gold bar total can be when I first get to the rainbow at the end of the current levels. I'm hoping to keep it above 30,000. It is definitely true that up in the higher levels where you and I are, it is harder to make extra gold bars. I have been stuck at about 31,000 gold bars for the past thousand levels or so, so I'm not sure it's possible to keep earning that rapidly at the level we are now. But it was certainly possible at the earlier levels.

Regarding your question about party poppers, I did manage to do well in one of the smaller tournaments late last year that offered party poppers for the winners. I didn't win my group - I came in second - but that did earn me 12 party poppers. And for a little while, there were really nice ways to earn them, especially Don't Feed the Troll back when it allowed older levels, so that allowed me to get a party popper every week. And when Top That first came out, they were actually giving out 8 party poppers for getting close to the top, and I won those 3 times, I think, during the first 3 weeks it was available. Then they cut the number way back so now it's not worth the effort anymore. 😥 But all of that certainly helped; I haven't bought party poppers in many thousands of levels now because of all of those. I'm afraid I'm getting close to running out now, though, so I probably will need to buy them soon. I'm down to just 5 now. I remember when I had close to 40.

Hi @cwgames99 Thanks for sharing your experiences here. We all get different offers in our games and in my game I get 40 gold per episode race plus an extra 5 for watching ads each episode. I also get 30 gold for my gold chocolate box, so I think I must be especially favoured by King or lucky. I also gained 200 gold bars three times for being helpful in the Community here (the "Help a newbie" thread). I won party poppers from "Don't feed the troll" when it still gave us three party poppers three days every other weekend for playing just old levels. My main aim in the game has been to accumulate gold bars, rather than to progress in the game. I usually play one episode per day. This way I have found that the game often gives me timed the starting boosters I need to last the entire episode, so I do not have to buy any of those. I am currently at level 5226 with 19,828 gold bars and at this level range continue to make more gold than I have to spend in each episode.

@cwgames99 , I think I would recommend in your situation that you try to watch lots of ads for quite a few days just to build up your boosters. Try to get over 50, maybe even over 100, free switches and lollipop hammers to help you through, before you start moving forward again. Then hopefully they will offer you the supercharger (super color bombs) - do you get offered superchargers? When that happens, try to go through a bunch of episode races in a row - earn the super color bombs, and then over the next 24 hours (while the super color bombs are active), get through as many episode races as you can, being careful not to lose a level. If you have lots of free switches and lollipop hammers, and you are aggressive at getting good plays at the beginning of each level, you should be able to get through quite a few episode races without spending many gold bars (hopefully not any). That would allow you to build your gold bars back up high enough to do more normal play going forward from there. 150 gold bars isn't much to work with, so I think that would be the best strategy - try to get that number a bit higher so you have more to work with.

One other thing - I forgot to comment about your statement regarding ad watching glitches on extra moves at the end. I totally agree with your assessment there, which is why I try to avoid using extra moves at the end of a level as much as possible. I think you have the right idea there. It's quite risky to go for extra moves because of the ad glitches, and it's really costly to lose a win streak with this strategy.

Hi @Nobody1 @cwgames99 I have a question, do you all still have these watching ads problems when using a new phone? Previously, I'm using an old phone (Android 5) to watch ads when playing CCS and sometimes it makes my phone clashes and I lose my win streaks like that. But, I noticed that that old phone itself most probably have problems (maybe have phone virus or something else) and I think not the game app itself. Currently, I using a new phone (Android 14) and have no experience this so far.

    thank you both for replying.

I spent all week playing old levels for the Gold Pass & watching ads in Sweet Cinema all for nothing since no boosters I earned stayed in my bank & I didn’t notice til a few days in that my boosters were not increasing. ☹️

Nobody1 mentioned buying boosters with gold bars (if I understood correctly). Would you provide a screenshot of the offer/location where you can do that? I’m assuming neither one of you (as have I)has paid money for any booster or gold bars.

I was collecting at least 40 lollipops & 40 switches before I started an episode, however the ads the past few days are few and far between. I’m only up to 22 each right now. So it’s going to take some time to get that high again.

You have both mentioned a few events that I was not offered or at least didn’t notice. Christinewupp is correct, all players are not offered the same thing.

Wow, that's awful that the boosters you earned were not credited to you. I hate when bugs like that happen.

When I first started, I couldn't figure out how to use my gold bars to buy boosters. I tend to be pretty privacy-oriented, so I hadn't logged into any accounts from my tablet (I use a Galaxy A8 tablet to play), and I wasn't able to use my gold bars at all.

Eventually I capitulated and logged into my Google account (I used Google Play Store to get the game on my tablet), and once I did that, suddenly Candy Crush started allowing me to use my gold bars. Note I still never have enabled spending money in my Google account, so there's no way for Candy Crush to ever collect money from me. But simply logging into that Google account suddenly made it possible for me to spend my gold bars. I would not be surprised if that might also allow some of the other benefits in the game.

My tablet is pretty new; I started playing the game when I got it a year ago. But it is certainly not the newest and it is a fairly low-end tablet, so maybe it is part of why the ads sometimes give me trouble - perhaps a higher-end device would not have such problems.

I think I am the only one having ad issues in this thread.

I play on an iPad & the ad issue where it freezes then goes to a black screen started a few weeks ago. It seems to be only for certain ads, not all & only effected the CCS app, nothing else.

I am currently not getting many ads in a day to watch.

Whoa. I went to capture screens to show how to spend gold bars on boosters, and discovered they just changed some of the costs.

In here if I click on the lollipop I get this:

I guess it's really close to the same price as before, but by 15s instead of 20s. I always buy the largest quantity, for the benefit of the discount.

wow! Thank you so much for sharing your screenshot. I’ve been playing CCS since 2013 & until now I did not know you could use gold bars to buy boosters.

I started playing on my P.C. thru Facebook, then realized I could play on my iPad. I am currently linked with FB, whether linking with Google play makes a difference, really don’t know.

The offers players get seems to be random.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
