Real title was Pyrolight and the Kingdom of the Candy coated Human Skulls, but I suspected I would run afoul of the mods haha.

Figured since this is the first event of the new year I would give er another go. Hopefully avoid Alien invasion this time and see some of the new stuff.

Rules are slightly different:

  1. Extra turns allowed (between mechanics changes and price changes using hammers might no longer be viable. Have to see how much I am spending on hammers)
  2. No buying gold
  3. No Hints
  4. Must get to 66 with no lost lives
  5. 6 hour sessions, min 1 a day when possible (Try, but not required).

Things of notes so far:

  1. Level 106 for my first miss (failed level). Losing here is not a shock as it is pretty much the first level where it is 100% up to the game to allow you to win or not.
  2. New frosting
  3. New starting levels, also noticed this, neat but not super sure a good use of resources
  4. Got event at 11, normal colors. It will be hard…

  5. Besides getting to over 100 without losing a level I wonder if the game is trying to tell me something?

  6. Got this "event", meh a few free boosters
  7. If this game works out I will be recording some of the shenanigans the game does. I am talking to you candies that explode for no reason.

@QueenB See below. This is a clear bug that both affects game play in a negative and positive way.

So interesting note, I actually had a level that started to drop the wrong candies on a "loss", multiple jelly and frosting left (197) but there were still fish flying and the cascade happening.

So I think what happens is the game checks that there is no moves that could "win" and starts a "cascade". Now something else is checking to see what kind of cascade to do.

Since the game is not actually lost yet as the fish have not landed, candies moved to their final positions the game likely does not know what cascade to do so it defaults to the win cascade thus the incorrect candies.

Thus some yellow candies fell but stopped once the fish hit as they triggered another fish that had been generated via the cascade. So the game clearly does more than one check.

What was especially hilarious was that they win cascade generates fish and every time you activate a fish another is immediately generated. Normally when the level is being played only so many fish can exist. Since it is a cascade that rule is tossed.

In the end more and more fish kept spawning and since there was so many they key being hit clearing out multiple layers of frosting and Jelly. It was kinda cool to watch.

I suspect you could use 197 to replicate the bug since there are so many fish but I have no interest in finding out haha.

    Day Too

    Anyway how are things going? Rather well.

    1. Game is not being tedious. It seems levels are not getting any enhanced difficulty atm. Even 240 went down with just boosters and 2 streak. Examples of 245 (no streak or booster and it got messed up since it has a specific starting mechanic)
      How often does that happen twice in a row? This is insanely good for only a few turns with no boosters/streak
    2. 225 is still such an awesome level. Just nails rage vs fun and has interesting mechanics
    3. Speaking of win streak…
      500 gold to anyone that can explain this to me and have it make sense beyond King devs are drunk again. Look at 3 and 4 lol
    4. Also I have NEVER seen this on the windows version before Obviously not a new even, but for me on windows it is.
    5. The game really is saying, keep playing haha.
    6. And of course saying that I get Alien Invasion at 260, first bubblegum level.

      Also it breaks the 30 min hammer as in it will not trigger. It can also freeze the game in other event like dice of destiny. Thankfully nothing was lost. I was so hoping with the event on I would not get it

    I pray for your sanity when it comes to Alien Invasion.

    Anyway in general Windows does not get:

    1. Weekly race
    2. Sweet Cinema
    3. Season Pass
    4. Also some others I cannot think of.

    The end result is:

    1. Windows version might get slightly more gold, our weekly race is always 45 but we also have no events/ads or such to increase it.
    2. Windows version does get significantly less boosters.

    As to the tagging, well this one is sneakyforum :P

    I'd forgotten you played on Windows.

    I've just played episodes from level 306 to 365 and they have been wild: With the super colour bomb enabled and just playing two starting boosters it's been fun, easy and with only four levels needing extra moves or a UFO to pass ( 315, 325, 330 and 345). There have been no "one jelly short" levels at all. I feel like I'm being tricked into thinking this game is easy and fun…… even the Alien levels have lucky boards for me. I wonder when all this will change. Of course I know it will!

    I lost mine to not seeing an extra gum ><. Btw what do your win streak rewards look like? As bizarre as mine? Also did you get the old levels? I did again.

    Letters from the front:

    1. First time I did 321 without a single dragon passing the point where they can drop off the conveyors, ie if there were 4 lined up, four dropped off the conveyor, not necessarily the board itself.
    2. Dice of Destiny… Adds a gold bar to your chest… I did not think they were being literal. I won't spend that all in one place.
    3. This game objectively feels better than the last one.

    Sorry but I've not been paying attention to the win streak. I'm on win streak 54 and so can only see the top reward. It's +2 moves, 2 x wrap/stripe and one CB. I got the standard levels after 200, conveyor belts present if that's what you mean by old levels, and it's not been too boring yet.

    Caturday wrapup

    Well that was interesting… very very VERY interesting. So 405 was being a nightmare so I just gave in a bought some extra turns… From that I learned a few things.

    1. The game became "nicer" after. Even though I was rushing I only used 2 ufos, 4 or so hammers, 3 extra turns and 2 switches over 4 episodes and those were all free from dice of destiny and Alien Invasion. I could have used less had I decided to give levels a few more tries.
    2. The game, we already knew this but I can 100% confirm it, tries its very hardest to make you use hammers if you buy them. Not just try to get you to buy them but if you do… you will burn through them. Also since I buy free time redoing levels 20 times is worth more than 10 gold.
    3. Basically hammers are not utterly useless to buy since they are 10 gold and getting a stack while cheaper ends up probably costing you more.
    4. The streak bag is sorta hilarious. Got a you shall not pass level, lost streak, easy level normally, and the next try I had the streak bag pop up haha.

    I see you mention level 321. I was rather disappointed it didn't have any purple candies, and I guess that is the reason this level still exists. I once managed to score several hundreds of thousands of blue in a blue leaderboard competition on this one, for 10 gold bars and 255 extra moves. I think they keep this level in the game because it's a money spinner: new players might miss the mechanic and find themselves with no option but to pay for extra moves due to inattention and being caught out. That's why the rating is hard when to us it's really easy to pass. It's the last fun level I can name in the range up to 3000.
