The studio has improved the fish, it can now be created with 4 candies like its other candy brothers, you can create in the game by creating a 'square' of 2 x 2 candies. Is it available to all players or only a few can try it?

    Hey @Andres-2 πŸ‘‹πŸŸ

Thanks for sharing this exciting update! πŸŽ‰ The Swedish Fish getting a new way to be created with a 2x2 square match is definitely a game-changer!

Right now, this feature is being tested with a select group of players, so not everyone will have it just yet. The studio often rolls out new mechanics to smaller groups first to see how they perform before deciding on a wider release. Fingers crossed it makes its way to everyone soon 🀞

Are you enjoying this new way of making fish? Let us know what you think! 😊🎣

    Level 3

@QueenB I think the opinion is nearly universal that it's hated. Fortunately I haven't gotten the change yet - I hope I never do. The claim by most players is that the fish is less smart for what is needed, not smarter. And more importantly, it breaks lots of the levels. The old fish is quite brilliant in how it is implemented; it works quite well. Cancel the fish change - it's a terrible idea.

    Hey @Nobody1 πŸ‘‹

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this! Feedback like yours is super important to the studio, as they always aim to improve the game in ways that players enjoy.

Since this feature is still in testing, changes and adjustments could happen based on player reactions. I'll make sure to pass your concerns along to the team!

In the meantime, if you (or anyone else) have specific examples of how the new fish affects gameplay, feel free to share, that kind of detail really helps!

Thanks for being part of the community and for keeping the conversation going 😊

Not really new @Andres-2 as they have been testing this since November of last year.

Those images are not from Candy Crush Saga. I have not seen these yet in my game and hope I never will.

I do like the fish forming by itself in some non-fish levels. However, I must agree that the fish is not very smart after all.

Example 1: I know there is a better move in this case. But for the sake of testing, I activated the fish to see how smart it is.

Example 2: In this case, the fish should have picked the red candy instead of green.

I've had the new fish in my new game for a month, and here's my feedback.

    1. The new 'smart' fish are determined to target special candies, ruining combos you are trying to set up. This is a major issue, as Candy Crush relies more on combos than Soda does.
    2. The new 'smart' fish are a nuisance on strategic dragon levels that have conveyor belts (level 321 is a good example). Fish cause dragons to drop prematurely from the conveyor belt by targeting squares underneath them, which hinders dragons' release, not helps it.
    3. Fish are spawned and activated by the cascades whether you want it or not, and you have to deal with them on levels where you were not supposed to. Sometimes you have to strategize how to NOT trigger a fish, or else it will ruin everything you are trying to set up (see above).
    4. Levels that rely on fish in some way are often a struggle. Candy Crush has quite a few levels that rely on the large number of fish spawned rather than them being smart. One fish instead of three is just not enough to achieve goals on such levels. If you are playing a level (Super Hard and above) that has fish dispensers, make sure to have ten gold on hand.
    5. Fish combos are absolutely useless now. They never target blockers, and one stripe or wrap they create in a random spot is not worth expending a move to set the combo off.
    6. The new fish are not smart enough to take into account level objectives. The only thing that can be called 'smart' about the new fish is that they target blockers in the same way as fish spawned from bobbers do. (Do they target magic mixers, though? If so, it will break some levels too.) However, considering the above, even on levels where the new fish can theoretically be of help, it's rarely worth expending a move to make a fish. Candy Crush levels have too few moves nowadays.

My game is currently on hold due to this new feature, and I sincerely hope that the new fish will not be implemented.

@QueenB Please could you take a close look at MannyFae's analysis of this "improvement" above and advise the team accordingly. If MannyFae has to put the game on hold to wait for this feature to end then heaven help any of us and heaven help Candy Crush should this "improvement" be rolled out to all, as you hope. I think we'll all have to give up playing if King decide to do that. So please uncross your fingers as fast as you can, for none of us want it!

The new update is by far the worst!! The fish is way less smarter.. The combinations are pathetic... Earlier stripe x fish or fish x wrapped bomb candy created 3 of those which would intelligently help you complete the board, now it just creates one and sucks big time in terms of intelligence. Please go back to the previous version.

On the subject of "intelligent" fish, I've encountered an issue of timed fish boosters (from the fishing boat I get when my last life has been used) ruining a go-to level.

I have tried to collect some purple candies so I can enter the leaderboard event at the end of the week. I've go no Star Tournament or any levels to play today being Tuesday, so thankfully I can use old levels for the qualifying collection. Hence I've been trying to replay one of the easy end of episode levels the game throws at us in the upper reaches of the game.

However, like @MannyFae I am forced to try and avoid fishes and now have to wait until the timed fish booster is gone as these fishes are definitely NOT intelligent…..unless of course the level designers are deliberately getting them to block us. This would not surprise me at all because: I find this level really easy to pass on my first attempts after reloading, BUT the more I press "replay" the harder this level seems to get. Same strategy, same boosters. Now that in itself is strange. So are the fishes meant to block us from replaying this easy level for the chocolate box or other events, while we have timed boosters?

As you can see on the starting board there are toffee swirls to be destroyed before unlocking the candies above the fish boppers. Once unlocked the fish boppers will hit the squares with the bubble gum, the different colour candies and the jelly jars. Purple and green candies will drop once you clear the blues and reds.

As you can see on the screenshot above this level has the potential to be a good go-to level and easy to pass once the fish boppers are unlocked.

    However look at these screenshots:

Having the timed fish enabled this annoying creature has gone for one of the odd colour candies in the jelly jar area, and so dropped a toffee swirl through the portal to fill its space. As these squares are shielded and have other colour candies this now makes the level impossible to pass and all we can do is either use a lollipop or quit. The fish has broken the level for me. Not at all intelligent nor helpful!

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
