The studio has improved the fish, it can now be created with 4 candies like its other candy brothers, you can create in the game by creating a 'square' of 2 x 2 candies.Is it available to all players or only a few can try it?

Change back the swedish fish! This new one is totally useless!!
I don’t like it either. I’ve had it for a few days. On some levels it works well and I’m ok with it. I’m trying to make it work for me. I can’t imagine they will change it back but hey I may be surprised.

Level 703. Luckily I was starting with 2 super bombs, so I cleared most everything pretty fast. 1 blocker left in a tricky spot up high. I must have created 20 fish, NONE went for the last blocker. Smart indeed…
The new Swedish fish are next to useless. Having only one fish that may not go after the most significant piece on the board is frustrating.
Well change from 3 fish to just one fish, how can it be smart? I used to like combine fish with bombs so I get 3 bombs where I need them to be, now I only get one, so what’s the point of taking this extra move to combine them then?
I dare anyone to play level 655 or 675 with the new fish :)

To reiterate what I have said about this new feature:
I think the introduction of this new fish feature is part of King's drive to control the outcome of each level. King have already removed other features in the game which add a degree of strategy and control to players, such as milk chocolate and the candy frog, both of which are now gone from the first few thousand levels. The new fish boosters adds to this drive. The algorithm can now be tweaked by computers every week to make levels either easier to pass, harder to pass or….. shall I say it…. impossible to pass. Like chocolate, like Samantha the frog, the old fishes were too useful to players as a strategy tool. King don't like us to use strategy. King want to determine the outcome of each level we play. These new fishes do exactly that: If we are meant to pass they will go for the right candies and finish the level for us. If we are meant to fail they will not show up on our board until it's too late.
I will add a prediction for 2025: The conveyor belt will get the chop next.
(Actually it's already gone from new levels 800-1500)

I think you are right, they've made the boards easy for now. I thought the same thing when I somehow managed to pass an episode in my main game yesterday by using just one hammer plus some starting boosters. I feel a little relieved that fish are not harmful at least. It's too early to make judgements though, because of the decreased difficulty. And the reduction of moves worries me.
I've gone back to play the level I complained about above (18635) since I've had the new fishes in my game. I'm glad to say that the new fishes ARE intelligent enough and go for the bubble gum on this level, and I've not seen any toffee drop and ruin the level as I did with the old fish boosters.
I've found the fishes either innocuous or helpful so far. I have not seen them be unhelpful and they do always go for the last jelly in my game, though I never leave it to the last move, never have done.
What I have noticed with levels around level 1800 is that the game has become ridiculously easy. Maybe these levels have always been easy, a lot of them are older ones, but I do remember once reading here that players will always fail if they blindly follow game hints to the end and in the past I found the game would always recommend the wrong moves near the end of the levels. Well I've tried out just following hints and I passed a string of levels, including one that was "legendary", carrying out nothing but those moves the game recommended, right to the final move, and I passed. I did have the super colour bomb and used starting boosters, but that's not the point. If King just tell us which moves the game wants us to make it's just dumb. Some of these moves included the new fish, one was hitting two of them together for example. I wonder if King are doing this in order to make players enjoy the new fish but if this isn't dumbing down the game then what is!
I also think that some of the snowstorm levels are marginally easier with the new fishes.
My lower level game is (and was) easy enough. The reason I put it on hold was that I found it difficult to constantly switch between the two games that have different fish paradigms. I'm much more worried about my main game, and higher levels in general, which I think the change will affect more. I won't discuss specific concerns for now, as my main game doesn't have the new fish yet because I deliberately stopped updating it in advance. My plan is to wait and observe how the change will impact levels based on posts in the Support forum. I'll keep playing without the new fish until things settle down.
So far, I hear reports that moves were cut down on many non-jelly levels, including those that depend on key drop rate, dragon drop rate, etc. For example, the now infamous level 8329 has had moves reduced to 20, there are a couple of complaints in the Support forum about it. It was my suspicion from the beginning that moves reduction is the ultimate goal of all this. Given that no one at King assesses tweaked levels before releasing them to players, there will be mathematically impossible levels for sure. While at lower levels such issues will eventually be ironed out, I don't have much hope regarding higher levels except maybe for the most egregious cases.
Overall, I feel like the change takes away more ways to affect the level outcome than it gives, and naturally I don't like that. The levels become even less strategic and even more relying on dumb luck, and naturally I don't like it either. Ultimately, I still stand by everything I wrote in my summary.
So, instead of 3 fish targeting the squares you need, you get 1, and it often targets an absolutely random space, and that is being sold as a "sweet upgrade"? Got to hand it to these guys, the sheer brass neck on them is quite spectacular…
The old fish was much better. This new fish is not clever and doesnt help the play.
For what it's worth: go back to the old fish. The new fish are a major obstacle and way more stupid. They need to go back to school first!
I'd be interested to hear how you have been faring since making this summary @MannyFae because these fish sure are set to stay in our games now from what I can see. They arrived in my games yesterday and so far I've almost ignored them. I managed to pass a snowstorm level with their help that otherwise I'd have failed, but basically these seem to be another method thought of by King to control the outcome of a level. If they want us to pass they'll drop us some fishes which will clear the blockers to speed things up, a bit like they used to drop colour bombs out of nowhere on lucky boards. This is also a nuisance if collecting colours and trying to draw out a level. I hope it doesn't now make all my purple collection data null and void as these fishes do speed up levels and make it harder to strategise to collect coloured candies. I haven't seen them actually ruin a level yet, but it's early days. So far I find them easy enough to ignore.
absolutely agree; i would use hands/lollipops to make fish combos (fish x stripe; fish x wrapped); now this is useless
I'm SO glad I found this thread, I thought I was just imagining that the fish aren't working like they used to. Glad to confirm. Now I don't bother matching them or using them unless I have nothing but jelly that needs clearing, because they are close to useless now. They just go hit some random candy half the time.
