Change in Level Difficulty

Hi All:

Has anyone else noticed that the game seems to change the difficulty of the levels and how many extra moves or bonuses you get after you reach a certain level of Gold Bars or bonuses?

Last week I had 1100 Gold Bars and a number of bonus items and had been beating level after level as well as being able to get bonuses by watching ads…then over the weekend the the game forced me to use all of Gold Bars and bonuses as the levels got harder and harder just out of the blue. Now I am stuck on levels and unable to advance - and not getting any extra moves or bonuses and even ads are not showing up to get any bonuses.

This is not the first time it has happened either…Has this happened to anyone else?

I would like to add some for this. Yesterday night I played at the last episode, but it didn't cause "Express train" incident, which contains 20-min unlimited live. If I got this gift I can get 45 gold bars regularly.

Yep, but sometimes I can complete hard levels (legend rarely) in one time, the premise is I have a powerup in limited time.

The highest winning streak (episode) is 58, and now I am at 11126. Someone surpassed me suddenly, then I got 2nd today. But I need to buy gold bars to complete levels quickly (previously said I need to go to Hong Kong to buy a GP gift card to top-up). We are worried about the price will raise after the U.S. tariff policy introduced.

Thanks for clarifying this and now it all makes sense.

I guess I just don’t see the logic in stopping people from playing the game by changing difficulties. The amount of money they make on ads would be astronomical so there is no need to push people to that point.

Their algorithms are actually pushing more people away than getting more users at least in my view.

Let people play and continue enjoying the game rather than stopping them and making it less fun…However I guess as is the case with everything it’s all about money unfortunately.

I've replayed the game many times, and every time I do, I realize that what they're doing is reducing the moves. For example, the last time I played a level, it stuck in my head because I had 20 moves, and now I only have 15. Plus, Super Ball, which you already know how to keep up with if you want me to. Not to mention competitive events like the All-Star. The game had its charm years ago; since the change in management, it's become too greedy. Those of us who don't spend money continue to not do so, and those who do will one day realize it's a waste of money. Best regards, and keep it up.

The levels are being changed in difficulty for all players once or twice per week. King change the algorithms periodically and the changes you have seen are probably due to All Stars being played. I don't believe that King adjust level difficulty at an individual level in response to how much gold bars you have. I have thousands of gold bars and still manage to add more gold in every episode. King DO change the difficulty of entire episodes one at a time and they do put in blocker episodes to make players start to spend gold bars. The best way to avoid spending all your gold at once is to pause playing for a week or two, after which the same episode will probably become easier to play. Take your time on the impossible episodes and if this means losing the episode race then so be it. Normally the game will offer players up to 255 extra moves per level if you are patient enough to keep replaying an impossible level. Just about any level is passable with +35 extra moves, so it is worth waiting to that point and then pay 10 gold bars. That way players can get through one horrible episode full of impossible levels with a maximum cost of 150 gold bars (=10 gold bars per level)

I fear you must be doing something wrong if you spend your entire bank of 1100 gold bars so quickly. To play gold and boosters wisely follow these tips here:

You need to fail some levels and replay them rather than pay gold to keep your win streak at all costs. Players who don't know when to give up on a level will end up spending far more gold than players who choose to fail a level that is obviously impossible to pass. Never pay more than 10 gold to get past any one level.

I am currently on Level 5148 and I don’t disagree that you need to use Gold Bars for different levels to help out, but what I was talking about is as an example:

I had 1100 Gold Bars, I had the Color Bomb Super Charger and a lot of other bonuses. I was moving along in the game without any major setbacks but using Gold Bars and bonuses as needed (but always able to collect more). Then in the last episode and a half all of the sudden all my momentum was stopped and I was forced to use everything and lost all my lives (I only have 5 at a time) and am struggling now to pass even one level. I am not getting any opportunity to get extra moves to help by watching ads, etc.

Almost as if my difficulty was raised to slow me down, not that I believe or am saying that is happening - just feels that way as it has happened a few times before in previous episodes/levels.

Which level are you at? I am currently at 18785, the highest level on mobile, let me tell ya, you can’t pass most of the levels without using gold bars or boosters.
