I have taken a look at this particular level. I think you are now seeing more of the original levels which were designed by humans several years ago. A lot of these levels will include a lucky board that you will need to spot and take advantage of when you do get it. It may take several or even many attempts to get a lucky board. So if you want to play without spending gold you need to be patient. When you do get a lucky board, there are some telltale signs. If you play starting boosters and your colour bomb is sitting next to the stripe or wrap this is a good sign!
I went on to pass on this occasion. I started with the colour bomb + wrap combo, as this usually clears the most blockers for me, but colour bomb + stripe would also have been good.
If you do not have starting boosters then the best opening move on a board like this is usually the one suggested by the game. If you then get opportunities to form special candies and combos of special candies it is a sign you are in luck. Make every wrap/stripe/colour bomb you can. Look out for every opportunity. If you can't see one make the move that removes the most blockers, near the bottom of the board. But do not miss any opportunity to make a special candy. The old boards are best played ignoring the jelly fish, because the algorithms were written before the new jelly fish were introduced. So here I ignore the colour bomb + fish combo but match the three blue candies (including the fish) to get the double colour bomb combo instead.
With a board like this you need to trust the game. If you have a lucky board it will not trick you up at this point but provide an opportunity to win, so the fish swims away and I get the double colour bomb combo.
The last 5 moves of these levels are special: Here we need to think and concentrate on what opportunities the game might present. As I had so much luck so far I think at this point there probably is a method to pass without boosters but it is not always obvious. After the double colour bomb combo the opportunities dry up and by 5 moves remaining it looks like I cannot get to the last two frostings. But usually at this point there is a way, so we need use our heads here with those last five moves. For example matching the three green here will bring the striped green in line to hit one of the two frostings.

The game is urging me to use the lollipop hammer here, but I can see that if I match the three green candies in the fourth column the three orange will drop to make the winning match next to the last frosting. So there is no need for a lollipop.

Thank you. That is interesting to hear. I can scroll back and take a look at these levels. The game may also appear harder because the game is giving us fewer free gift through events. We all see different events in our games, so it is not easy to assess other players' games. If you spend money you will not get video ads to watch, that is a sad fact in this game. If you spent any money on any offers in the game the videos will automatically disappear a few days later and they are unlikely to return. It is how King run the game.
If you find the game stressful then please consider giving up playing. The whole purpose of Candy Crush is to be fun, enjoyment and satisfying to play.
Many of us have noticed that the game has become harder recently. It may be the way the AI is running the game and changing level difficulty every week. But this also may be because you have advanced in the levels to the point where the game changes from letting you win everything to blocking you. Which level are you currently at?

Is there a moderator on the forum anymore? This glitch just started today, the new levels that were just added are not syncing across my devices. All are up to date. It's also been saying occasionally about no connection, but closing out the game and restarting seems to take care of that. The real issue is the syncing…
Anyone else have an issue with the booster wheel not letting you spin? Mine says come back in xxx hours for the next spin, but the next spin never comes. I am so stuck on level 7280 and I need some booster help!!
