The last 2 times I've had this event, the bees/butterflies just don't appear ,if they do appear a few times, it's not enough to get the 4 ufos. Sets you up to fail.

Teenybee, you and I really have similar versions of the game. I have the same issues. I did catch some critters about a year ago, but haven't seen any since, despite often getting the popup.
Well @MountainMom, you know what’s really frustrating? Getting the popup announcement for Critter Catch on four different occasions without ever seeing a single critter. Hrumph.
Hello @lulu77! My past experience was that the butterflies only appear on one of the hard levels in an episode. More recently the butterflies appear on random levels within an episode. As you know, the butterflies fly down from the top of the board and must be collected as soon as you see them, because they disappear quickly and don't reappear in the same level. And, you might need to play multiple episodes to collect all of the butterflies before time runs out. I also noted that the event does not necessarily appear at the same time for all players — it appeared on one of my mobile devices but not on my other mobile device.

Hello @ymoller! I agree with @Alienscar. In the past, "critters" only appeared on Hard levels, but recently they appear on random levels over multiple episodes. This can be frustrating!
Hello @ymoller I couldn't say for sure as I ignore this feature in my game, but as far as I know a butterfly doesn't appear every time you play a Hard level.
I am on a hard Level but no butterfly appear, WHY?????
I suppose that is my point about having to play three Episodes @Deal_One
I suppose the whole 'drop when they feel like it' is supposed to encourage us to play on and collect them. Ultimately I guess King wants some players to care enough about collecting the bees that they pay.
I don’t like how they drop the critters when they feel like it. They should drop every level.

Yes @christinewupp that is one other thing I should have mentioned. The one time I did collect all the required butterflies I had to play three Episodes and, for me that is too many.
I agree with the above comments. This weekend the critter catch is my ONLY event in either of my two games, and it is completely useless. I have never had enough critters to win anything and I play quite a few episodes sometimes.

I have read many complaints about the butterfly/bee feature but in my game I noticed that it was really easy to forget about collecting them and the butterfly appeared suddenly and not for too long.
Based on my experience I can not decide if there is an issue with the bee/butterflies not appearing or they just aren't on screen long enough for people to notice.
