Im beginning to think there is no point playing when I need to grind a game until the train shows up with the popper. Spend 10 gold, pass the game and maybe another, if I am lucky and then repeat again.

I totally agree. I am on level 19500+ and since 19000 and above it has been nothing but a money grab with 80% of the levels being ridiculously hard and impossible to pass without gold bars. On top of that my ads went away early this summer, so my only option was replaying old levels for the chocolate box. As boring as that was, at least I could pass a few levels as @Epic360 mentioned. Now, not only has King rearranged previous levels to make it harder to find my goto ones, they have changed the chocolate box tasks so many are only for ‘new unplayed levels’. Every new recent change has made it clear they want you to pay to play. I too have been playing since 2014 but I can’t see continuing. As it is, I am playing much less than I used to. So sad how they ruined the game from fun and challenging to frustrating and boring.
Hello @Epic360 It does matter what level you are at, to some extent: The first 4000 levels of the game are mostly fair and easy enough to get through while making a gold profit. Levels 4000-18,000 can be tough in parts, but there are strategies to play that will allow to at least break even with gold bars. By this I mean you can earn as much gold in the episode races and other events as you have to spend to get past the impossible levels ( if you play gold and boosters wisely and use all available events wisely I think it's possible to make a gold profit) . However, once players get to within 2000 levels of the end of the game, so 18,000 upwards players will invariably have to spend more gold bars than they can make. So playing those levels is only possible if you have enough gold bars saved up.
Candy Crush in 2025 is now a gold budgeting game. You are meant to pay your way out of levels that are ridiculously hard and some of these levels no longer seem to have a "no boosters" solution, no matter how long we wait.
I have written some tips on threads on these different level ranges and on how to get through the game without having to spend any money, but without knowing what level you are at I cannot refer you to my threads. You can find them by clicking on my name at the top of my post.

It doesnt matter what level Im at, because once I pass that level, the next one is just as hard to pass. Your hard, harder, very hard levels are just ridiculous.
