I am sorry to hear about the issue in your game!! Can you please tell me which device you are using to play the game?
Can you also post a screenshot of the message where it says "not connected to internet"? This web-page tells how to take a screenshot https://www.take-a-screenshot.org/
** Please tap on "Type your Comment" box located below, to reply back. And to post the screenshot, tap on "Attach Image" icon located in the tool-bar (a little farther to Emoticon), then select "Choose Files" option to upload the image from your device.

Are you seeing that "No internet" message only with the Episode Race OR is it the same with everything? For example, Mr. Toffee Fair, and other features?
Are you having this issue with only Candy Soda game? Or other games are also behaving the same way?

@mattmahar420, can you try clearing the Google Play Store cache and see if that helps?
-Go to apps and find the app called 'Settings'
-Locate the menu called 'Apps' or 'Application Manager' depending on the device model
-Scroll down until you find the 'Google Play Store'
-From here click on 'Clear cache' then 'Uninstall updates’ and finally 'Clear data'. Please notice that you will get a warning when clicking the 'Clear data' button - don't worry as it's just a reset.
