Why did the art style of the game change?

I really liked the 2D art style and the different places every (15?) levels. Why did that change?

Hello @nisa341208 The developers are always working on creating a new gaming experience for players. New events with different characters require different backgrounds. I can see from your screenshot that this is from a number of years ago as the portal has disappeared for several years now.
