How come when I am playing my levels only my score shows up not other players?

I see, thanks for providing more details. Then the situation makes sense and missing scores from people is not a recent issue after all.
You're correct, it was possible to have random friends before, now it's not possible anymore
The previous system of assigning random friends to players' lists has been removed a few years ago and has been replaced by implementation of Social Hub feature.
Social Hub allows players to customize their friends lists so they can add and remove players of their choice instead of King's. Everyone who gets Social Hub feature, starts out with a blank friends list which needs to be manually filled out by the player by sending invites to other players. Once you have friends, you may ask for and receive lives and see friends' scores in highscore bar or in any other event.
players who don't get Social hub feature (unfortunately it happens) or get it but don't add friends have blank friends lists. So they can't ask for/ receive lives nor see friends' scores anywhere.
So if you do have Social Hub feature available in your game:
I recommend to add friends. You can do so by following the feature friends suggestions or by sending invites when you tap on avatar pictures of players you see in any Soda event. More infos here

No no other problems except no other scores but mine. I don't have a friend's list maybe that is the reason. Do I have to make a fiends list. I thought people I don't know would show up. That was how it was before. Maybe they changed that?

do you have friends visible in Social Hub feature or did they disappear there too?
are the friends scores from highscore bar the only thing amiss in the game?
do you have any issues with claiming rewards and playing in events such as 4 in a row, episode race etc?
do you see any error message in the game?If you do, in which place specifically, in profile settings, in game shop etc?

Hi! Not sure I'm following when you say other people having problems? What kind of problems?
I suggested to close the game app before disconnecting and connecting to internet and then launch game app.
Just like when you're done playing and close the game app and not let it run in the background in order to do different activities on your device 🙂
Two things: 1st no it wasn't always like that.
Secondly, it says I am online,however, if I go out and come back will I lose anything? I have seen some people having problems and right now thankfully I am not. Could this cause problems for me?

By the description of it, it seems your Soda app is offline, provided you have other players in your friends list 🙂
Was it always like this or were you able to see other players in your highscore bar before?
soda app being offline might be temporary and solve itself
Did you to try to close Soda app (make sure app is not running in the background), turn off all internet connection in your device and wait for a couple of minutes, then turn it on and launch Soda app?
Also you might need to repeat this again but when you turn your internet connection back on, switch to wifi connection instead of cellular data connection or vice versa
then launch Soda app and play any level to reconnect to King servers
