4 and 5 letter words some are ok and some are not why?

words counts sometimes its spelled right just not good enough to receive a score to complete 10 words needed.  Help

10 word search seems not all words qualify even if the are spelled right... is there a trick or something i am doing wrong

Shirley, in some levels there are vines entangling the tiles - these tiles do not count until they are free of the vines.This example shows you how it works:
