I can't get past level 45. Is there a trick to popping the bubbles along the sides where you can't spell words?

Yeah there are a couple of ways which you can reach those bubbles with. The first one is with crowned tiles, they are generated by making any 4 letter words, once you use the crowned tile in a word it will be activated and pop one of the bubbles for you. FYI the crowned tiles are super useful as they will always help towards getting the mission objective done, so for this one for example they will pop the bubbles when activated.

Bubbles can also be popped if they get caught in the way of a blast from a tile blaster, it will wipe out anything in it's path.
