@PummyRaj I live in Germany.
Around half of Germany's area – around 16.6 million hectares – is used for agriculture.
German agriculture is one of the four largest producers in the European Union. In order to feed the more than 200 million livestock, more than 50 percent of the agricultural area, grassland and arable land, is used for fodder purposes. In addition to animal products, agriculture mainly produces bread grain, potatoes, sugar beets, oilseeds, fruit and vegetables for human consumption. In addition, there are areas under cultivation for the production of bioenergy and bioraw materials.
Around 263,000 farms produce food and fodder as well as renewable raw materials
Hi @PummyRaj and thanks for the great conversation. It will be nice to ready it all once everyone chimes in.
Happy Independence Day to you and talking about Independence, here is a bit of knowledge that maybe people do not know about Independence Day in the US
One of the things many people don’t know about Independence Day is that Congress officially declared its independence from England on July 2, 1776. We celebrate the holiday on the fourth of July because this is the day that John Hancock became the first man to sign the document. Head here to learn more about 4th of July history.
Edited: Forgot my fun fact for farms 🤷♀️
Texas ranks first in the nation in the number of cattle and calves, accounting for 13% of the U.S. total. Where's the Beef! 😀
hi farmers, this is a beautiful contest, I live in Italy even though I grew up in Germany. I live in the Puglia region. olive trees are cultivated here. for about ten years they have unfortunately been affected by a bad disease that has decreased our production of olive oil by about 50%.still scientists have not been able to find a cure against this bacterium that was introduced from South America, probably with coffee berries. pity for our olive trees a millenary plant.
Hello @PummyRaj and fellow farmers! Let me tell you about a breed of cattle developed in Texas.
The Santa Gertrudis is a breed of cattle that was developed on the King Ranch in southern Texas. The name was derived from that of the Spanish-owned estate of Los Cerros de Santa Gertrudis, where in 1851 the King Ranch was established. The cattle are a solid deep cherry-red in color.
Today Santa Gertrudis are referred to as America's original beef breed. The breed has adapted to and thrives in the Texas heat.
Greece = Olive oil

Happy 75th Independence Day @PummyRaj
My brother picking wild oats. Wild oats is known to cause hay fever and asthma, and can cause nitrate accumulation and photosensitivity. This species generally occurs as a weed in wildland areas of the Southwestern Region rather than as an invasive plant. Why are Wild Oats bad? Wild oats are highly competitive and when left uncontrolled, can reduce wheat yields by up to 80%.
Happy 75th anniversary..I am originally from Wisconsin in United States, we are known as dairy state, but we also produce 265,000 gallons of maple syrup ayear & 183 million eggs a yr..wis.also leading producers for potatoes & cranberries in the states.
