Happy 75th Independence Day@PummyRaj.
There are more than 35million sheep and lambs in the UK - more sheep than any other country in Europe. The UK is perfectly suited to sheep production with its hills, highlands and lowlands making it home to more than 90 different sheep breeds.
Sheep have been resident of the UK since Roman times and became hugely important to their economy and welfare. Today, meat is the main product of sheep, although skins, wool and milk also have their own markets.
Wow I really love the homemade Tart is from.your mother? In Rome we have one similar is called " Torta con ricotta e visciole or Crostata con ricotta e visciole" It's a tradition from the Roman-Jewish cuisine was born in Rome in the sixteenth century.
If you go in Rome downtown in the "Ghetto" there is a small bakery unmarked called Boccione that serves also slices of ricotta cheese and sour cherry pie or the whole tart! The recipe it's a secret but if you check internet there are many recipes, just to find the right one 😊😊😊😊
This Pic is from the Boccione bakery
It's made with sour cherry jam!!!!
If you are interested I'll try to find a recipe 😉😉
Hi @PummyRaj,
I nearly forgot to post my congratulations for India's 75th Independence Day 🤭🤗
I'm a Belgian born in Africa and living in Italy now lol. Will talk a bit of Belgium products Our main crops are barley, corn, potatoes, sugar beets, wheat and assorted fruits & vegetables. 537.941 dairy cows provide Belgian milk of high quality, Belgian cheeses and lots of other dairy products. We also produce granulated milk powder of which 67% is destined for countries outside Europe. Belgium exports dairy products for an amount slightly less than 4 billion €.
Locals started the production of cheese in abbeys and monasteries in the Middle Ages. Many of the abbeys have also given their name to beers.
Fries...are they French or Belgian? Common lore claims that the original fry was born in Namur, city in Wallonia (francophone Belgium) where the locals were particularly fond of fried fish. When the River Meuse froze over one cold winter in 1680 people ostensibly fried potatoes instead of the small fish and the fries were born.
A (belated) happy Independence Day to you and fellow countrymen!🎉🎉
Thank you for this opportunity, fascinating topic, contest and for tagging me. 👩🌾💜
I am born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, we are known for our horse breeding and racing, as well as poultry farms and major crop producing agriculture. Even us city folks love to have our vegetable gardens.
Maryland's crop income is from greenhouse and nursery products (flowers, ornamental shrubs, young fruit trees). Corn for grain and soybeans are also important sources of revenue in the state. Other important crops include wheat, hay, barley and tobacco. The most important vegetables are sweet corn and tomatoes.
Vegetables total 29,339 acres in Maryland with sweet corn leading the way followed by watermelon at over 3,700 acres. The 2017 Census of Agriculture results are out, and Maryland shows its diversity, with poultry, an array of crops, vegetables, and floriculture ranking high for a small state.Jul 29, 2021
Also we are home to the Chesapeake Bay and the famous "blue crabs", which are delicious btw. 🤗
Happy Independence day to you @PummyRaj .
Rice is the most important rice 🍚 🌾 producer in the Philippines as it provide almost half of the calorie requirements of the population. The domestic supply of rice however is inadequate to meet local demand making the Philippines 🇵🇭 one of the top five rice -importing country in the world.

Hello@PummyRaj here is my contribution
Agriculture has existed in Austria for about 6,000 years. We have cattle and grain farmers, plus forest, wine, fruit and vegetable farmers.
Of around 160,000 agricultural and forestry enterprises in the country, about 60,000 are mountain farms.
Every sixth farm is an organic farm. Nowhere else in Europe is more land farmed organically.
In hardly any other European country are there more small-scale farming structures than in Austria. 91 percent of farms are family farms.
