Hi @bigsam547 welcome to our community.
I have been a pyramid player for a long time and graduated from this level 1017 with 3 stars a very long time ago. I got 120.950 points at that time.
When I repeated the level now, my best result was 44.500 points. I played it with the scarab card and without a booster. After completing the task, my score was 26.450 points and I have a streak of 30 and 31 remaining cards on my stack. I only got one star for it. I didn't even manage to finish the level with 2 stars.
I played all the options/variants. Unfortunately, I could not get more than one star in this level. The level was certainly changed after I played it for the first time. I am sorry that it is no longer possible to complete level 1017 with 3 stars. 🤷♀️
I'm currently at level 6033 in episode 399 and totally happy if I've made a level after a lot of attempts.
This is how level 1017 is displayed on my map after I had played it again with all variants. It has turned golden, but has the stars from my first attempt many years ago. 😉

You should focus and chech that the level 1017 has been changed what it used to be, there is no way to get 3 stars, not even 2 stars from it now, for 1 star the bar is moving ok but after that it would require probably 300 extra cards to make 3 stars

Neither can I and I had a continuous run in a scarab mode with two unused joker cards. The developers need to address that issue.

Also confirming this. Changes you’ve made to this level have made getting 3 stars impossible.
I don’t mean that in an “I need tips” way. I mean that as in I can play a perfect game or close to it, get lucky with the scarab bonuses enough to rack up several extra jokers, and I still will only barely break 50,000 which as far as I can tell is still at least 30,000 points shy of what is needed to 3 star.
You broke this level.
