This is a PC system glitch which has happened to me a great many times since I am on Chapter 362, Level 7219. Customer Support will generally replace what items you have expended on the Level you are working on with the exception of Gold Hats when this glitch happens. It is a pain when you are near the end of finishing the Chapter, but persevere. You can get past it. Also, Customer Support may have you reload the game for updates that may not have happened on your system.
