Fern introduces the girls to his pets

Fern gives the girls a tour around the Pet Home.  

“Over there is the garden where the pets like to go fishing,” says Fern. “Here is the Pet Home where all the orphaned animals are cared for. Let’s go inside so I can show you all the pets that I have.” 

The girls are so excited and can’t wait to see all of them. Tiffi tells Fern that Rachel doesn’t know much about pets so maybe he can guide her somehow. Fern asks Rachel if she is looking for a specific pet like a dog or a cat. She tells Fern that she really is open to all ideas right now.

“Hi guys, we have visitors today,” Fern says. “Over there is Elwood, Twix, Honey and Gus. Over here we have Dimples, Lee, Finley, Hunter and Helix. As far as learning about these pets, here are some facts about dogs,” Fern says. “Dogs have about 100 different facial expressions, most of them made with the ears.  Contrary to popular belief, dogs aren’t color blind; they can see shades of blue, yellow, green and gray. The color red registers on a grayscale in a dog’s vision.   Domesticated for more than 10,000 years, the dog was one of the first animals domesticated by humans."  (Info here) 

The look on the girl’s faces are precious. Rachel runs up to the dogs and she wants to take all of them home. Tiffi tells her that there are a lot more pets to see.
