Tiffi has time to spare until dinner is ready so she heads back to their website. She reads about the activities usually held during the festival such as arts & crafts, games/rides for the kids, a beer tent for the adults and a food court. Something catches her eye ………………. What is the Royal Court?
“Each year, a pair of Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses are selected for the festival. They ride in a special vehicle near the front of the parade and sit at the review stand at the end of the parade. All Royal Court members get sashes. Kings get crowns, Queens and princesses get tiaras, princes get scepters. Throughout the weekend, they will act as representatives of the festival to everyone they meet and be available for photo sessions and media interviews.
Tiffi continues to read more about the Royal Court. It says that to be considered for this honour a twin has to pre-register and must have been pre-registered for five of the previous six years of the festival. The twin also has to submit a 300-word maximum essay on the uniqueness of being a twin and why he/she would like to be a member of this court.”
“Well, guess that leaves out our twins,” thinks Tiff. “They just found out that they are twins.”
The more googling that she does, the more information that she finds. Wow they also have these festivals in other states too.
She has to bookmark this site so that she can check it out later. She really needs to get the registration done.
Let's continue with the next part of our story – Tiffi makes the reservation
