The girls continue their nature walk and come across more flowers.
Campanula has the common name bellflower. Its name is Latin for "little bell". In gardens, they provide a wide range of flower colors and shapes from tall spikes to low growing mounds. Some of the best blue and deep purple colors are available in this flower.
Elderflower is a shrub that produces a multitude of small, dark berries. The juice of the berries is an intense blue-purple color and is an approved natural color additive in food. The berries are also used to make jam. Beware though when picking them, bears also like the berries!
Lily of the Valley is grown widely throughout North America, but it enjoys cult-like status in Europe where it’s considered one of the main harbingers of spring. It is a favorite flower in the bouquets of royal brides with its large leaves that surround stems covered with tiny, bell-shaped, white flowers. It is often called the mayflower as a symbol for the month of May.
“Hey, I just thought of a good idea!” Jenny says. “Why don’t we go see Blossom and learn more about the flowers from her?”
Tiffi and Kimmy think that it’s a great idea. Blossom knows everything about flowers. They have no clue how to reach her by phone, so they just look on Google to find the city.
