Dimples is starting to feel neglected. He wants to play ball with Rancid.  

“Do you mind if I play ball with Dimples?, says Rancid. “He’s been so good so how about I throw the candy bomb with him for about ten minutes?”

Jelly Queen would never mind her friend stopping to play with his puppy. Dimples is really cute and then the thought of her getting a puppy popped into her head. She will have to call Tiffi when she gets home.  

Rancid has now come back and they continue to read more methods.  

Prepare mentally. If you can’t avoid a tempting situation, prepare yourself in advance. Think about how you want to handle it and mentally practice what you plan. 

“This might be a difficult one,” Rancid says. “Maybe not, when you are out helping the player if you feel your anger coming on we can find ways to prepare you in advance so when the anger surfaces you will be prepared to handle it in a different way.” 

The more that she thinks about her anger surfacing, the more she realizes that her frustration of the players not being able to understand where she throws the jelly is causing her to get angry. When she gets angry she wants to throw the green jelly on them and jellify them so they can’t talk back to her. She is starting to get it! 

Enlist support. Ask friends, family and co-workers to support your efforts to change. 

“Ok, let’s think about this,” Rancid says. “Do you know about AA and sponsors! When the person gets the urge to drink they can make a phone call to their sponsor instead of having a drink. You could do the same thing. When you get so angry and so frustrated why not take a break and call one of us to vent?” 

Jelly Queen thinks that her friend is so smart! It’s amazing how much he is helping her find new ways to distract from the urges.
