First day on the job

Dachs the Donut Dog is starting a brand-new delivery service for the Candy Town citizens.  He is responsible for delivering all the mail throughout the town, but with his memory you never know what might happen. But can he start his own service or would he be better off staring as a mail carrier?

He is up bright and early in the morning and gets to the post office about a half hour before they open the front door. He has some paperwork to complete since this is his first day on the job. Then he is given his uniform that he will wear every time he is delivering the mail. He is so very excited and can’t wait to get further instructions.

“Hi Earl, how are you doing?” says Dan.

Earl has been working for the post office for quite a while now. He loads the trucks. Look at that large bag of letters that he has to load.

Dachs introduces himself to the mail carriers. He tells them that it’s his first day on the job and asks if they have any good advice to offer.

“Just be careful when you go to some of the character’s houses,” says Dan. “Some have ferocious dogs that will want to bite you. Oops, sorry! You’re a dog! What are those donut things on you?”

Dachs explains to him that when he arrived in the Candy Kingdom he was called the donut dog because he always carries the donuts on his back. After all, you never know when someone will be hungry. His bag is packed so he’s now ready to leave.

“Have a good day,” Dachs says. 

He thinks that he made the right decision starting off as a mail carrier. Later on, he can always start his own service.
