Slow internet, Game not connected, or some other reason, you may face such problems. You can check out some troubleshooting below.
Reset/Clear cache data from App Store - Check app update - Log out game - Restart Device - Open game and Log in.
About the purchase, we don't offer Player Support on the phone, but please follow these steps HERE to get some help. I'm sure you'll be able to solve it.

However, if you have purchased gold bars to pass level 5 but still failed, I'm afraid there's nothing can be done. I've also spent 7 gold bars to get some extra moves in another King game but I still failed that level. 😅😅I just kept trying after that without spending anything and eventually passed after several attempts 🤭🤭so good luck in levelling...

A sweet welcome to you and please make sure to join us in the contests, where you can win gold bars etc. And other discussions, polls surveys besides the fun area where we play side games to pass the time and meet people. All good advice above but I am a little confused...do you mean by didn't work...you didn't receive your gold bars or you did and you are still stuck on level 5? I'm assuming the latter, if so the only advice I can give is don't give up, been there lots, I am on 2105... regular game and just played one where I was sure to pass that I would need 3-4 lollipops, decided to try on and 3 games later I succeeded w/o using any. Eventually you will get that one where you can do no wrong... so to speak or the moves are there and to your delight everything goes your way and you complete that level. But also have one more tip, on a difficult level try having all 3 timed boosters or 1 or 2... anything helps. I find the "friendly fish" is the best, where you activate one every time the characters' candy quota is filled and they give you their booster i.e.: wrapped, striped, fish etc. and automatically after that a fish swims around and helps you out. Make sure to do the daily quests and receive your daily rewards, you will need an internet connection.
Also always look for ways to make a color bomb or coloring ball to create as many wrapped, striped as you can to wipe out as many candies and Blockers. And if you can combine the 2 ( bomb and ball or 2 bombs, 2 balls) together, you will have what I call a nuclear explosion...lol and it will take out a lot of the board. I am sorry to say that the issue you had was not clear!
Was the issue that you were not able to purchase the Gold Bars OR you purchased the Gold Bars, but you did not receive them into your game OR even-though you purchased the Gold Bars, you could not win the level?
