“Wasn’t she great?” says the ringmaster. “I don’t know how she does it but I don’t think that I’ll give it a try. Now it’s time for our juggling act.”
“It looks easy right?” the ringmaster says. “Well it takes a lot of practice. How about some steps on learning how to juggle?”
Step 1 – Find something to juggle: I’d say best start with 3 objects. Same size. Same Weight. When I started juggling I used anything I could find. Stones, bricks, tennis balls, sex toys (for an advert casting, don’t ask). But I’d highly recommend getting a proper set of juggling balls. The less they roll when you drop them the better.
Step 2 – Just Juggle Fool: I’d start with learning the classic three ball cascade.
• Hold one ball in your left(weak) hand and two balls in your right(strong) hand.
• Throw one of the balls in your right hand up and over into your left hand. Now you should have 2 balls in your left hand and one in your right. Make a rainbow shape with the “flow” of the ball. Try throw it so it peaks just above your head to begin.
• Now throw the same ball from your left hand to your right hand the same way.
• Repeat step 2 and 3 until you’re feeling natural at it.
• Hold one ball in your left(weak) hand and two balls in your right(strong) hand.
• Throw one of the balls in your right hand up and over into your left hand, BUT before this ball lands in your left hand throw the ball in your left hand into your right. Combining steps 2+3 into one move.
• Repeat this starting with two balls in your left(weak hand).
• Repeat 5,6 and 7 until you’re feeling natural at it.
• Hold one ball in your left(weak) hand and two balls in your right(strong) hand.
• Start by throwing the first two balls as done in step 6, BUT before the second ball you threw in your left hand lands in the right hand, throw the last ball in your right hand from right to left. Now you should end up with 2 balls in you left hand and 1 in your right hand.
• Repeat 10, but start with two balls in your left hand.
• Repeat 9, 10 and 11 until it feels natural.
• Combine 9, 10 and 11 into a continuous cycle without stopping. (Info here)
The juggles take a bow and leave the arena.
