We have to learn all that math?

It’s now time for their math class.

“Good morning students, my name is Mr. White and I will be your math teacher this year,” says Mr. White. Math is not always an easy subject to understand but I will make it as painless as possible”. 

He gives them a wink and a thumbs up. 

“These are the topics that we will be discussing this year…..” 

‘Number and Quantity: The Real Number System, Quantities, the Complex Number System, Vector and Matrix Quantities

Algebra: Seeing Structure in Expressions, Arithmetic with Polynomials and Rational Expressions, Creating Equations, Reasoning with Equations and Inequalities

Functions: Interpreting Functions, Building Functions, Linear, Quadratic, and Exponential Models, Trigonometric Functions

Geometry: Congruence, Similarity, Right Triangles, and Trigonometry, Circles, Expressing Geometric Properties with Equations, Geometric Measurement and Dimensions, Modeling with Geometry

Modeling: Real-world applications of mathematics from all categories

Statistics and Probability: Interpreting Categorical and Quantitative Data, Making Inferences and Justifying Conclusions, Conditional Probability and the Rules of Probability, Using Probability to Make Decisions’ (Info here) 

“I am going to give you a little quiz to take home but don’t panic,” Mr. White says. “I just want to find out where your math skills are at the moment so that I can get a better understanding of what areas to concentrate on.” 

Philippe is not too happy but it’s time to eat lunch.

This is the best part of Philippe’s day!  Eating!  Jean-Luc is looking at the menu but has no idea what he’s in the mood to eat.  The lunch time goes quickly and it’s now back to class.
