Smokey cooks dinner for them

The two of them walk into the kitchen and Tiffi checks to see what time it is and what there is to eat. It’s getting close to dinner time so she might as well prepare dinner for all of them. Mr. Toffee should be home soon.

“Please let me cook because it’s my favorite thing to do,” says Smokey. “What do you have in the house. Aha I see white fish fillets and shrimp. I’ve made this one recipe that my siblings love - Simple Sautéed Fish with Garlic. Would you like me to make that?”

Tiffi likes the idea and takes out all the ingredients and cooking utensils. Smokey puts the sauté pan on the stove and turns on the gas. As he’s cooking he’s explaining to her what he’s doing. 

“Once the butter is melted you add the fish and then the garlic. Let the garlic sauté for a minute and then tilt the pan ladling the garlic butter over the fish. You have to continue basting the fish for about 2-3 minutes. Then the fish needs to be flipped. Lower the heat and then cover the pan. Every so often uncover the pan and continue basting the fish until it is fully cooked.” 

Tiffi is fascinated with how easy he makes it look. 

“Now it’s time to transfer the fish over to a platter and then all that’s left to do is to add some parsley and sprinkle the fish with lemon juice.” 

Mr. Toffee walks in just as Smokey finishes cooking. Dinner is now ready to be served. He says hello to all of them and then goes to wash up.  

“What are you guys cooking?” Mr. Toffee asks. “It smells very good. I smell garlic!” 

They all sit down to dinner and once the meal is completed they just enjoy the evening relaxing and getting to know each other.
