Tiffi prepares dinner for her and her father and as she is setting the table for the two of them the front door opens and Mr. Toffee is home.
“Hi Dad, dinner is ready,” Tiffi says.
Mr. Toffee goes to the bathroom to wash up and they sit down to dinner.
“I saw something weird this morning as I was walking through the park,” says Tiffi. “There were these two young turkeys and a baby pig talking to each other and the younger turkey was crying. She was afraid that someone would kill her mother. The older turkey said that they had to write a letter or make a sign telling people not to eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day. It was very strange to hear turkeys talking to each other. I thought they only gobbled.”
Mr. Toffee tells her how he met up with those young ones when they were protesting outside the candy store. He shares with her how he spoke to them and how he offered to help them if they needed help.
“I also started thinking about vegans because their sign said eat only veggies or vegan,” says Mr. Toffee. “I got curious to find out more about vegans so I called Elsa because she’s on Google searching even more than you. She shared a little bit but then offered to do a search on Vegans and also Vegetarians. I got an email from her and I’ll share it with you after we finish dinner.”
The phone rings just as they were finish eating. It’s her buddy Chewy calling her.
“Hi Tiffi, what’s going on?” asks Chewy. “Hey a funny thing happened to me this morning and I wanted to share it with you. When I was outside my house I saw two young turkeys and a baby turkey talking to each other. The older turkey came over to ask me if I had any paper because they wanted to write a note telling people not to eat turkey. I helped them create a sign and we added a popsicle stick to it. The older turkey was so happy because they wanted to protest and tell people not to eat turkey or ham for Thanksgiving.”
Tiffi shares with her buddy how she saw them in the park and was quite surprised to hear them talking. Then she shares how her father saw them protesting outside his store and offered to help them if they needed help. Wow! Now her curiosity is getting to her and tomorrow she has to go to the center of town to see if they are still protesting. Chewy asks what time she will head on over there and maybe he will meet her there.
Let’s continue - Chewy joins in the protest
