Mr. Toffee calls his daughter Tiffi but she doesn’t answer the phone. He is very curious now to find out what vegan is all about and what food they eat. He calls Kimmy but she’s not home either. He decides to make a phone call to Elsa. She’s on Google searching all the time so maybe she can help him. Elsa picks up her phone on the second ring.
“Hi Elsa, how are you doing today?” asks Mr. Toffee. “I know that you and my Tiffi are constantly on Google searching for one thing or another so I could use your help please. There were a couple of young turkeys and a baby pig outside on the street today. The older of the two turkeys was carrying a sign and they were protesting. The sign said something about vegan and not to eat turkey or ham. Do you know anything about being a vegan?”
Elsa tells him that she knows a bit about it because she knows someone who is definitely a vegan. She tells him what she has learned about it.
‘A vegan is someone who does not eat, drink, or otherwise consume or use any animal products. You won’t see a vegan sporting a leather belt or using soaps made from animal parts.
A vegan is someone who likely cares about his or her health and has concerns about animal welfare. Someone can be vegan also for reasons of protecting the climate and conserving the Earth’s resources.
Everyone has a different reason for becoming vegan. There’s no right or wrong reason to choose this type of diet.
However, there are some common denominators with which you might resonate. Let’s look at some of the most common reasons why people become vegans.’ (Source)
“Mr. T, how about I look up more about this and compare it with being a vegetarian and then I’ll send the information to you,?” Elsa says.
Sounds like a plan!
Let’s continue - Elsa does some googling
