“Yeti wake up,” shouts Tiffi. “I see that you’ve eaten too much chocolate again! Wonder how long he’s been sleeping.”
Tiffi shakes him and shouts once more trying to wake him up. Success at last! He wakes up but he’s still in a very groggy state.
“Oh, hi Tiffi how are you?” asks Yeti.
He rubs his eyes and looks around to see where he is. He’s in Bamboo Forest but how and when did he get here.
“Tiffi you’re not going to believe this!” Yeti says. “I went back in time and met up with some dinosaurs and dragons. I met this cute green dinosaur named Penny and she introduced me to all her friends. I don’t know how I got there but I had travelled back into the past. I have to tell you all about Penny. She’s a Parasaurolophus dinosaur. He gives Tiffi a brief summary about his new friend.
‘Parasaurolophus was a herbivore. It lived in the Cretaceous period and inhabited North America. Its fossils have been found in places such as Alberta (Canada), New Mexico and Arizona. Parasaurolophus marked in red.
Late Cretaceous. A mass extinction occurs, leading to the extinction of dinosaurs, many marine reptiles, all flying reptiles, and many marine invertebrates and other species. Scientists believe the extinction was caused by an asteroid impact on the present-day Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
Parasaurolophus was a bipedal, herbivorous ornithischean dinosaur that dwelt in what would become the North American midwest during the late Cretaceous period. It is recognizable for the long, blunt crest protruding from the back of its skull. Although the exact purpose of this crest is a matter of some debate, aesthetic value, temperature regulation, and even vocalization have all been proposed as possible uses for the formation.
Parasaurolophus could walk on two or four legs, depending on the situation. It was 30 feet long, fully grown. In art, Parasaurolophus is often discerned by its beak and distinctive crest, which varies in length as determined by the species depicted.
