Macaroons and Mille-feuilles

When Rachel finally walks inside she finds Rancid standing in front of a display case full of pastries. He tries to get the salesperson’s attention so that he can eat one now.  

“What kind of wedding cake do you want?” asks Rachel.  

Males! What do they know about cakes? All that he cares about is purchasing a pastry or maybe even two. He can’t forget to buy one for Rachel. 

The salesperson walks over to them and Rancid tells her which two he would like to buy. She takes them out of the showcase and puts them in a box and walks over to the cash register. 

“We are here to find out about your wedding cakes,” says Rachel. “I was here a couple of weeks ago but wasn’t sure what I wanted. Do you have any suggestions for us? We are going to have a small reception at Le Bistro and they had suggested a Viennese table. I told him that I wanted to compare prices before committing to a wedding cake from Le Bistro. The wedding is on Christmas Day.” 

The salesperson walks them over to a rack to show them a couple of cakes that were just decorated.

“We can create a 2-tier cake with some red roses on it,” says the salesperson. “If you are looking for something that isn’t as fancy, I would suggest the strawberry shortcake. We just did this for a birthday party. We can add a bride and groom in place of the birthday sign if you like that instead.” 

Rachel looks at Rancid who is so engrossed in eating that pastry. She starts giggling because his mouth is covered in cake! He’s not even aware that crumbs have fallen on his shirt and tie. LOL! 

“What if we go with the strawberry shortcake and maybe an awesome chocolate cake?” questions Rachel. “Rancid we have to get a chocolate cake for Yeti? I think that’s what we’ll do. Can we get some macaroons? Oh and I definitely want mille-feuilles for Elsa. She told me once that those are her favorite!” 

Rachel places the order, money is exchanged and they are given a receipt. The salesperson says that they will deliver everything to Le Bistro so they don’t have to worry about picking them up. 

It’s time to go home now! The two of them are exhausted. Rachel asks Rancid where is her pastry? Rancid gets this guilty look on his face. Gulp! Oh no, Rancid ate both of them. Rachel gives him a hug anyway and a big kiss on the lips. She is ok with that.
