First stop is Le Bistro

Bright and early the following morning Rachel and Rancid eat a quick breakfast and head out to the bakery. Along the way they stop at the post office to mail the invitations. Now they just have to post the invitation in the Friends community.

Le Bistro is a few doors ahead of the bakery so Rancid suggests that they go their first. The manager is standing near the doorway and he’s looking outside with a worried look on his face. The virus is on the rise again and he’s concerned about not getting enough customers to remain open.

“Welcome I’m the manager/owner,” says the manager. “How can I help you today?  Are you joining us for lunch?”

He starts walking them towards a table but then Rachel tells him that they are interested in discussing a wedding reception on Christmas Day. The manager asks how many people will be joining them. Rachel tells him that it might just be around 25, the most. He guides them to a table towards the back of the restaurant and they sit down to discuss details.

“We’re not sure with this COVID-19 virus if you can accommodate us,” Rachel says. “I know that restaurants have restrictions and guidelines that need to be followed.”

The manager asks if they are interested in a sit down dinner or perhaps some appetizers and a Viennese dessert table. Rachel asks what he suggests. He tells her that a sit down dinner might not be allowed at the moment with the virus going to rampant. He tells them that they are setting up for a wedding now and they can talk to his chef for more details. He excuses himself that he has to be somewhere but they should leave their phone number with the chef and he will get back to them later on today. He walks them over to where they are setting up a private room and the chef comes out to greet them.

“Bonjour, my name is Andre,” says the chef. “We are setting up for a wedding, as you can see. How can I help you today?”

Rachel tells him that they are getting married in a few weeks but she’s not sure about the menu. Andre takes them to a small table in the corner and he goes to get some pictures of what they have done in the past.

Let’s continue - Andre shares some ideas with them

Start at the beginning – Five weeks until the wedding
