I'm not from the US, so I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I like the idea that you have a day when you stop and reflect on all the things you are grateful for (although I hope people do that regardless of Thanksgiving ✨).

If I were having a feast, I 'd probably mashed potatoes, salad and stuffed mushrooms, glazed carrots and wine. 😏

I would love to join that table and celebrate together, even though this day is not celebrated in Spain, I have always liked it. It catches my attention when I see it since I was little on television series and in movies It sounds so good, its name attracts me and I would love to live it one day.

This year I am fortunate enough to be able to spend Turkey day with my kids (24 & 22) smoking a ham, making mashed potatoes, green beans with bacon, stuffing w/ sausage, biscuits and apple pie, cheesecake and sweet potato pie for dessert-all while watching football and having some beers and enjoying each other’s company-while arguing over football stats/players/teams, who makes the better ham, who should’ve made the mashed potatoes, “is that what you really wore today”, kids (brother & sister) arguing over who’s dog is cuter and minds better, and of course the favorite, “who’s doing the dishes”! 😂 And I wouldn’t change one thing about it! Love my family and the competitive nature in all of us-we truly define the term “Love Hard, Fight Hard”and I’m Thankful for every moment of it‼️🖤✌️

Even though the Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated on October 12th, today, after work, I'll bake a cake and prepare a special dinner... it is my birthday 😉

Back in October 12th, we had Turkey with all the traditional sides and I made coconut cream pie and my partner made Rum Cake

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Today's menu includes (not counting anything my brother might be bringing): Turkey stuffed with piquillo peppers and sausage, dressing balls, homemade noodles, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, cranberry salad, sweet potato casserole, rolls, pumpkin raisin soda bread, pumpkin gooey butter cake, and cranberry jelly candy.

It will be me, my parents, my youngest brother and his wife, our dog, and their dog, The cat may be hanging around but she doesn't like the dogs so probably not. The parakeet will make his presence known but he won't be at the table.

I won't be watching the Macy's parade this year because there won't be a live one, but if the Eukanuba dog show is on, I'm watching at least the first hour of it. Even the dogs would watch it with us.

The tree is already up, but I will be putting up the rest of the Christmas decorations tomorrow, and then it's off to the mountains for the weekend with the same family members who will be here today. The dogs and the parakeet are going too, but the cat will have to stay home.

I will have to see what Thanksgiving trivia Mom comes up with this year. I answered the most questions right last year.

I don't allow the parakeet and the cat near each other due to the cat having a high prey drive.

The Christmas tree is already decorated. I just need to take a picture of it. I have a few close ups of some of my favorite ornaments on the tree, but still need to take a pic of the whole tree.

If you joined our family table you would see the traditional spread: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, yams with of course marshmallows and brown sugar melted on them, and good old gravy! Good food ~ good people ~ good times. Who can ask for more?

Oh, dessert you say? Yes, there is pumpkin pie and cheesecake! 😉
