Let’s go to the zoo

A couple of days later, Tiffi wakes up early in the morning. She calls Rachel to confirm what time they are meeting at the zoo. She also reminds Rachel to bring her face mask otherwise they might not let them in. 

Rachel and Tiffi arrive at the zoo entrance at the same time. The girls are so excited and they can’t wait to get inside. They both put their face masks on and walk towards the entrance. 

“I’m very surprised that there aren’t many people here,” says Rachel. “Maybe it’s because of the pandemic. I remember reading about the animals being lonely because not too many visitors are coming to visit them.” 

The girls pay for their admission and are then given a list of rules that visitors must follow due to the pandemic. 

‘Rigorous Cleaning and Sanitizing

Zoo staff are cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, dining areas, trams, and frequently touched surfaces throughout the day.

Disinfecting products are thoroughly reviewed to make sure they adhere to CDC guidelines for effectiveness and staff are trained to use these products accordingly.

Additional hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the Zoo for your convenience.

Social Distancing

Timed entry and limited capacity per day to promote social distancing.

One-way traffic set up in the Zoo, where feasible, to help control the flow of guests and promote social distancing.

Dining tables and benches are placed six feet apart for social distancing.

Acrylic barriers are in place at guest and staff interaction areas.

Social distancing markers are placed at all animal viewing areas to help remind guests to keep a safe distance from other groups.’ (Source) 

The girls agree with all the rules. A zookeeper walks over to them and introduces himself.

“Good morning everyone,” says the zookeeper. “My name is Harry and I will be your guide today. Remember to keep your distance and keep your masks on at all times. Does anyone have any questions before we start? Ok, let’s begin.”
