Over in the King community, wykoon bumps into Nck. She tells him about the superhero convention and asks if he’d like to join them.
“Of course, I’d love to go!” exclaims Nck. “Just get me the date, time and where to meet.”
Back in Tiffi’s house, she continues to search on Google to get more information about the convention. She finds some pictures from past conventions and can’t believe how crowded they can be. Guess there must be a lot of superhero fans.
She changes her search to find out what they can do at a convention and comes across an interesting article.
‘Here are five things you can do at a convention that won't cost you a cent:
1. Panels - Panels can be awesome fun. They give you an opportunity to hear more about your favourite guests, ask them questions and learn a lot. There are all kinds of panels you can hit up including Q&A's, tutorials and group panels.
2. Play some games - A lot of conventions will have console setups in place. As well as these, there are tabletop game setups. Seek these out, challenge your friends (or strangers). There's a chance you'll get to play games coming out soon.
3. Chill out zones - Be sure to look this up before you head to a con, but some shows have their own chill out zone. Full of beanbags and anime to watch with subs or dubs, the chill out zone is the perfect place to recharge your energy.
4. Photos - Cons are a great place to have your photo taken, or to take photos. You tend to go home at the end of the day with a bag full of cards from photographers that snapped your photo. It's always exciting to do mini-shoots with photographers.
5. Free stuff - Making your way around a convention, you'll be delighted to know that some vendors will have free swag, or at the very least, competitions and giveaways you can enter. They may be con exclusives, so keep your eyes peeled.’ (Source)
You can buy books - You want something unique, you can check out many of writers and artist in Artist’s Alley or for bigger cons some have publisher booths where the publishers show all of the cool and new stuff they are putting out. That’s the beauty of conventions is that there usually a story for everyone if you are willing to give it a chance.
You can get your favorite comics or books signed by the creators - It’s a little-known secret that at many conventions, artists and creators who created a lot of those amazing pop-culture icons that kids dress up as that we see in movies, are sitting right across the aisle from you as you walk by. Perhaps the writer who wrote the death of that character who is played by Hugh Jackman just happens to be signing books not an aisle over. You may be standing next to the guy who first drew Superman without his red shorts and would never know it.
Get custom original art and sketches - The best part is that there usually are enough artists at conventions that you can find something to fit your budget. Some younger or up-coming artists do quick sketches for free, some do it for a tip and some have a set charge that is generally reasonable. For those with larger wallets you can commission some of the more seasoned veterans to do a piece.’ (Source)
Tiffi likes all this information, and she has to share this with Elsa. She continues her search.
