They are all up very early the next morning. Tiffi talks about their day yesterday and how much fun they had, but they still have a day left to do another activity. Chewy looks for an idea from the information that the guide gave them.
“Hey, let’s do a husky ride,” says Chewy. “I’ll read you what they have to say about it.”
‘Husky self-drive tours: 4 km sledding, morning express/midday mush - by Korvalan Kestikievari Oy
Duration: 2 hours
Get away from the crowds, have a more personalized experience, and travel through the snow in the old-fashioned way. On our tours you will see how much fun dog sledding is as you learn to drive your own team of dogs. We start by getting winter overalls and boots for anybody needing them. Then it's time for your driving lesson. We'll teach the necessary driving skills and then set off with our lively Siberian huskies through the silent forest, following the guide's team, without snowmobiles spoiling the magic. Participants travel in pairs, each taking turns to drive and ride on the sled. After the run, you can cuddle and pet the dogs and take photos, then we'll go for a kennel tour and tell you all about our dogs. We finish off with a warm drink and cookies in our old, traditional house.
The route is approximately 4½ km long and suitable for beginners. It still requires good balance and strength, and you will need to run up small hills. The time spent sledding depends on the speed the dogs run. This will vary according to the snow and weather conditions, and the time of day. Our dogs run at speeds that usually vary between 10km/h and 20km/h, however, in the right conditions they can sprint for short distances at around 30km/h.
Small children under 7 years ride in the guide's sled with a parent or a member of staff. Children aged under 15 may ride in a sled driven by their parent, and from 15 years may be able to drive a team by themselves, at the discretion of the guide. The tours are not suitable for children under 2 years.
The experience can be started or finished off with a hearty lunch in our beautiful restaurant, which is an optional extra. Other extras include ice-fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoe trekking and afternoon snowmobile tours.

“That sounds like a lot of fun,” says Olivia. “Let’s do it!”
Odus is not sure if he would be interested so he asks if they mind if he doesn’t join them. He thinks he’ll just lounge around this morning.
“Hey, what about shopping?” asks Odus. “Yesterday when we were walking around on our tour of the Arctic Circle I saw Santa Claus’ Main Post Office Shop. How about you do your thing and when you are done meet me here and we can do lunch and go shopping!”
Great idea! Tiffi has to see if she can find some gifts to bring home. She tells Odus that she will call him when they are on the way back so that he can get ready.
Let’s continue - Let’s go shopping!
Start at the beginning – Tiffi and her friends go to see the Northern Lights
